Friday 2 games, 3 ranked teams
Sat 2 games, 2 ranked teams
Sunday 13 games involving 20 ranked teams
Monday Sat 2 games, 2 ranked teams

If someone who didn't like women's basketball were given the task of designing a schedule to minimize the possibility of fans to watch a lot of games, they could hardly do better than this four-game stretch.

I understand there is some who only care about UConn but some of us care about other teams. I looked at the lineup on Sunday and ticked off several "must watch games" and realize I'd only gotten to the 2 PM games. I can and will watch a lot of games but I will burn out long before I watched all of those games.

I realize individual schools can't fix this on their own but there's got to be a way to better spread out watchable games

This is the networks' job. ESPN will often ask that a big Sunday game be moved to Monday night, or set the Sunday schedule with good games at 12, 2 and 4.

We just happen to be in the part of the season with many big conference games at the same time.

The networks also don't cooperate with their rivals, they can only move around their own games.

Fortunately, there's you tube and the dvr.

Wouldn't this topic get more reactions and posts on the General Board "Week 13 - Jan 26 to Feb 1" thread? Earlier today, @BRS24 posted this weekend's games in a new chart.

Maybe but I didn't see it. I just went back to see if I overlooked it and I still don't see it.

Here you go:

The problem is that all conferences set up two preferred days each week for their teams and with men and women both requiring one weekend game and even if they have two facilities, they don't want to compete against each other - ACC is Thursday and Sunday for women, Big 12 is Wed/Sun, Big Ten Wed/Sun, and the SEC is Thur/Sun. So the women have Sunday generally and the men have Saturday. And ranked teams in WCBB are from the P4 (23 out of 25 and Princeton after their loss might drop out.) In men's basketball, the P4 are a little less dominant with only 20 of the 25. The mid-week games get moved around more often than the weekend games.

The schedule is set well before the season and are tied to t.v. contracts, so watchable games are either known at the time the schedules are made or develop as the season progresses. For example, Louisville was not a top 10 team at the beginning of the season but now is one, so some would say a Louisville game was not watchable at the beginning of the season but is one now. You know when you know what are watchable games, but there are a finite amount of days during the season to have the games, so your point, though understood, is not rooted in the reality.
