I am reposting this from the Cuse Board. I know we have a very big game in a few minutes but this young lady needs all the help she can get to pull through this terrible tragedy.
I don't know if I'm allowed to post this here but I am anyways. Mods, If I'm breaking any rules, I apologize.
I have a best friend named Jenna who has been pregnant with twin girls. She is one of the biggest Syracuse Basketball fans I know. A 26 year old, healthy, former basketball player who has one of the most energetic and positive outlooks on life. She works as a Recreational Therapist for veterans near Fort Drum, and her husband is also a current Sergeant in the Army. Jenna went into premature labor last week (30 weeks). Fortunately her twins are ok and recovering quite nicely. Unfortunately, Jenna is not doing very well.
It was discovered that during the course of her 30 weeks of pregnancy, she had developed cancer in the placenta, which had spread to her ovaries and lungs. It was quite fortunate that she went into premature labor, as doctors said a full term pregnancy would have killed both her and the twins.
Doctors have said it is a very rare form of cancer and are recommending treatment provided by specialists and experts that are in London, England. She is currently being kept in a medically induced coma because of the state of her lungs right now/her hard time breathing with the lesions on her lungs. Her family has created a website to help with the costs of all the medical expenses and travel expenses for treatment in London, as her family is about to take a huge financial undertaking.
Please view the page below, and if moved or willing to, please donate to possibly help save a life. Prayers are requested and appreciated as well. Jenna has been a best friend since I was in Kindergarten, was a date to my high school prom. It's crazy to think this is happening, but I have no doubt in my mind that she will overcome this. Thankfully her husband is currently on leave from Iraq, and is able to be with her at this time. I ask you keep her twin baby girls and him in your prayers as well.
Thank you all for the prayers, consideration, and support.
