>>Former UConn tight end Sean McQuillan is one of nine players eligible for next week's NFL supplemental draft according to a tweet from Michael Signora, NFL Vice President for Football Communications.<<

>>The supplemental draft is set for July 9. Teans forfeit the pick for each player they select so a first-round pick will result in a team losing its first-round selection in the upcoming draft. Ten players have been taken in the supplemental draft from 2002-11 but quarterback Terrelle Pryor, selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round in 2011, is the last player to be selected in the supplemental draft<<

Hopefully Sean can get a look from a team in this. Also, Fuller is wrong Josh Gordon was the last player selected in the supp draft.

I still remember the Giants grabbing Duke QB Dave Brown with a supplemental pick. I just looked at an all-time worst QB ranking and he was #12.

I think getting an invite would be pretty big for him. So my hope is he gets just that an invite to a camp.

At this point he's sadly behind many others who have had the opportunity to open eyes in mini camps and OTA's.

>>McQuillan is tentatively scheduled to work out before NFL personnel Wednesday at Avon Old Farms, where he went to school. Two teams are confirmed, Taylor said, though more are expected.

"We're expecting a good turnout, so I'm excited, but it really doesn't matter if there's one team there or 32 teams there," McQuillan said. "I'm going to go there and give it all I've got. This is where I always wanted to end up. It's a lifetime goal. I put 22 years of my life into football, and I'm ready."<<

Good to hear that things are looking up for Sean. Really unfortunate situation here at UConn and it's a shame he couldn't remain on the team, but let's hope he catches on in the NFL sooner rather than later.

thought Josh Gordon was a supplemental pick

He was. In 2012. The courant article references him.

For comparison, these are the averages posted by TE in each competition at the 2015 combine. (few decimals rounded here and there)

UPDATE: McQuillan was not selected in the draft and is now an unrestricted FA
