OT: Former UConn recruit Taelon Martin Will Make D1 Debut

For Eastern Kentucky.

There have been some bumps in the road, but good for Taelon.

Eastern Kentucky was in the OVC for 70+ years. They made the tournament three times since the 2004-05 season and moved up to the A-Sun last year.

Coach A.W. Hamilton is entering his fifth year at the helm and his teams are known to play fast. They finished 5th in overall tempo last season, have ranked in the top-six in four of the five season and finished no lower than 24th. If Martin gets PT, it's a fun team to play on.

I was exaggerating to a point but it did seem like a long time ago our staff began to recruit him in Springfield. Wish the kid the best of luck hope he does well.

He started out at St. Joe's (D3), went to College of Southern Idaho (Junior College) before Western Kentucky. Quite the path to D1. From his Twitter feed, he had a number of D1 offers including Coastal Carolina and College of Charleston. Coastal Carolina's a beautiful school. That would have been my choice, but that's just me.
