He also fought like hell to keep PC’s baseball team from the title IX death it ultimately succumbed to. In the end it cost him his job as AD. In both his big jobs he had he was handed no win situations. He was also a really nice man. RIP.Sad news. No matter how you look at it, John was essentially in an impossible spot once the Big East was raided and schools started to leave. Prayers for his family and friends.
I did not know the man but he seemed like a good decent person. RIP.was placed in a tough situation. But John was a good man who loved PC and the Big East.
Major loss not just for the Big East but for all of College athletics.
We need more highly committed, honest people in this business
