Thanks, Biff! Senior Days are always tough, but this one seemed really emotional for everyone. Myself included!!

Thanks so much, Biff. The whole ceremony was wonderful, yet what an absolutely special moment for a young woman from Hungary to be escorted by her teammates (including a young woman from Croatia). UConn women's basketball is the best!

The announcers mentioned that according to Geno she told him she will return!!!!
Thank you Biff. Such an emotional and wonderful moment to highlight their careers at UCONN. I do hope Dorka returns next year. Our team will be loaded.

Thank you so much for posting! I pray Dorka’s family is safe and it was beautiful to see the team be there for her

I just watched this video for the second time, and I realized something that, or have forgotten about, that we have always talked about these girls as players. We sing their praises, we complain about them when they play poorly, we compare them to each other, and we always have an opinion of them, good or not so good. The best thing about Senior Night is that we see them in another light. We have cheered them on the court. Now, on Senior Night, they walk along the very floor that they compete on, but this time, they are walking with their parents to the applause of us fans. What we forget is, these "players" are other people's daughters. Watching them, smiling, their family smiling, and in that instance, they look so vulnerable. They are 21 year old kids playing as adults for their school, and of course, us. Congratulation to you four girls, and good luck to you when you leave the university. You will be missed, but you will not be forgotten.

A much needed post as the ceremony is not televised. Thank you @Biff.
All are so much appreciated year in year out but this was a special group. With all the injuries, covid protocol to get through this team constantly came across as family.
Amazing how watching videos like this and typing make one's eyes water like rain. Then again here in New England it is sap season. ;)

Not necessarily. Perhaps just a prisoner of the moment. There were a lot of moist eyes in Gampel this afternoon. I thought it was a show of friendship and compassion when Dorka’s teammates all escorted her onto the floor knowing her parents could not be there.

That was a moment none of them will ever forget. Those fans in the arena that knew why Dorka didn't have an escort had to be a little emotional when she was announced, and took the floor. She may or may not have made up her mind. We should know for sure soon after the season comes to a close.

Seems there was a mention about the Hungarian National anthem being played for Dorka…did not see it on that video?

It wasn't bad enough that I had to cry in person at Gampel yesterday, but I had to cry again just now. Somebody looked into my office as I was watching this and was so concerned I had just received terrible news that they came in, closed the door and asked if I needed to talk.

The Hungarian National Anthem was played, but it was not actually part of the Senior Ceremony. Rather, it was played before the U.S. National Anthem as part of the typical pre-game procedure, and the announcers noted it was for Dorka. It was a very nice touch and it was great to see the crowd be so respectful. All-in-all, a great day at Gampel. When you think about what these kids sacrifice to reach the level they've reached, it's great that we fans have a forum like this to show our appreciation. Thank you, Seniors!

It'll be quite the thing in two years when there will be three anthems to play.

P.S. I love the Canadian National Anthem.

Well then I guess we can include her in whatever lineup or roster scenarios we comment on this summer. Next year's team will be more comparable with her on it.
