Taking a few liberties with her quote: "I’m hoping to definitely make an impact and help the USA win the gold medal the Huskies win another national championship.” If she is indeed back to her earlier form, all I can say is wow. We will have yet another powerful weapon in our arsenal in 2013-14.

A healthy Bria is a AA Bria..........Playing for USA Basketball is good and bad. Playing obviously helps to sharpen and develop skills, and keeps them sharp and in good condition. But the possible negatives are injuries and fatigue.

Its good to hear Bria say that the ankle is no longer bothering her and that she's ready to go full speed with confidence.

Go Bria..........!!

Half of me is so happy for Bria competing for USA and winning gold... the other half worries about injuries that can happen anytime, anywhere.... Gonna hold my breath until all five Huskies on USA teams are back on campus and 100% healthy....:)

One interesting thing about this is that we have five team members playing USA ball, sufficient in variety to constitute a starting 5 lineup; and, a sixth player, already the recipient of some AA honors, who is sitting out the summer--a 6-5 center, no less.

That's what I call loaded for bear :-o

She mostly likely would be playing all summer anyway. yea, it's at a higher level.

There are several "what-ifs" surrounding this team. What if Bria is healthy and confident? What if Moriah and/or Morgan make a sophomore leap? What if Breanna is able to sustain the level of excellence she showed in the tourney? What if the light comes on for Kiah? What if Banks is fully healed?

What if all those things happen?

Then the team would be somewhere btween college and the pros,or,another dimension of their own.

I think Bria learned her lesson though. If she had spoken up about her injury, it likely wouldn't have bothered her to the extent that it did, because it would have been taken care of earlier.

She's a tough girl though.

<<What if all those things happen?>>

When my Cousin "Straight Nate" and I played in the Industrial League (Hartford) back in the mid-'60s, I saw one team solve such a horrid problem.
This team had ALL 5 starters from the 1961-62 Hartford Public HS State Championship (Large) team (including Eddie Griffin!) and their "bench" was 4 of the 5 starters from the 1962 Buckeley HS Championship game runners-up & one of the '62 Weaver HS starters.
The HPHS five played the 1st and 3rd quarters at a full-tilt pace.
The full Buckeley-Weaver crew came in for the 2nd and 4th quarters and finished up ...by which time the HPHS 5 had already showered and come back to check out their opponents for the next night.

So, perhaps, either an equal division of time or, a "B" team to send down to out of the way places like Tenn would be in order.

I don't think that there is a question of "what if" regarding Morgan. From what I saw, she is a cool, calm player who played impressively in the post for a freshman. I believe that she will definitely step up her game.

It will be great to have the Bria daggers back!

Whaddaya mean, sometimes? You sound like my kids (although you do give me a little more credit than they do.

Hard to tell who gets the credit sometimes...I'm out of breath a lot these days... ;)
