Down 7-3 early in the 3rd quarter the defense holds on fourth down and we take over on our own 44. Newsome rushes to the Tulane 42. On the next series Whitmer finds Davis on the sideline for a rare third and long conversion. First and 10 from the Tulane 31. I was thinking just maybe we were starting to take control of the game. The fumble on the next play was the most deflating moment so far this season, for me at least. Even more than the safety a few minutes later which I think everyone saw coming.
