It seems like getting the football team in the AAC would be a good fit. But of course we would have to give something in return.
How about we put the women’s team in AAC along with the football team. Everything else stays in the BiG East.
Of course the BE and AAC would have to agree.

Just throwing it out there and not very seriously

How about the Big East & American reunite. BE merging with the ACC has been mentioned but we know that won't happen. The American has 15 schools. 14 football and 13 basketball members. 2 football only and 1 non-football

26 programs
15 football
24 basketball

The footprint would cover more than half the contiguous country. First it solves UConn's football issue. It also solves basketball issues for Temple and Memphis. And due to its size programs like UConn, USF, Memphis, Tulane can leave when another invitation is proffered. I think the Big East should be very concerned with the status quo 11 teams with some very very bad.

I think the 2nd idea was even worse. Lol

Yes the Big East 2.0 wouid totally want to rejoin the conference that it worked so hard to get away from.

No, you can’t do it. I assume your idea is to entice the AAC to take our football but you can’t do it by rule - all of your sports teams have to play in your primary conference unless your conference doesn’t have a sport. So we can move football. But the only cards Uconn can pitch is an improved G5 program now that would improve their FB conference, the UConn brand, and maybe a BB scheduling agreement.

One obstacle might be that Memphis, Tulane & USF may look at UConn as competition for a P4 spot. So they may not want UConn in the AAC for that reason. So it might be easier to pitch football-ony to the Sun Belt. It’s the next best G5 that’s not out west.

We left the AAC because it was killing the women's basketball program.
I think that was the one that wasn't being killed. They won 3 NC's in the 6 years they were there not counting 2020

“Important” and college baseball is a stretch. It is a non-revenue sport.
Winning nationally in baseball still matters, even if it doesn't matter as much as basketball or football. Soccer and hockey fall into that boat too. Much more important than tennis, golf, swim/dive, XC, etc
