Florida vs Houston NC game thread

Are you arguing that Houston has a better defense than UConn this year? That is deep. That may be the best insight in the history of basketball or message boards. Thank you for sharing that with us. I don't think we could have figured that out otherwise.
Absolutely love your commentary. Every time I see one of these posts I think of you trying out for a job as a diplomat. Hilarious.

I think they have our 2023 team too low and I’m not a huge fan of this Florida team but they did do great in the SEC.

2023 is way too low. It's because of what I said above about looking at the entire season vs March/April.

That 2023 struggled, so it's pre-tournament KP rating (which is what these rankings reflect) was very low. That was a very, very good team that evolved over the course of the season.

Yeah I saw that but i think just using Ken Pom is a little deceiving as you mentioned as our 2023 team was a lot better by then. Looking at the those KP ratings it looks like the 2016 Villanova team, 2021 Baylor Team and even our 2024 team had big increases during the tourney as well. Not just the 2023 team.

Winning two years in a row by double digits in all games is not a fluke. UConn did not play inferior teams in 2023 and 2024. The UConn teams were just that much better. Most thought that Duke was doing something similar this year….until they didn’t. I don't think 2023 UConn gets enough credit because 2024 was so dominant with the Castle, Clingan lottery status and Newton's All-America showing. I guess we need to believe that the overall quality of college hoops took a dive in 2023 for UConn to dominate the tournament.
