Sue Semrau...24 years at FSU...has just retired.

National Coach of the Year in 2015. Many awards...lots of wins...made the final 8 three times....no final 4 runs.

Knowledgable ACC fans: who might they pursue?

Would they look to their assistant who was interim coach in '20-'21?

Kim Mulkey and I endorse the Jackson State coach.

Wow, would not have guessed that. Interesting.

Yeah... alot of new blood in the ACC. Off the top of my head.. I'm thinking its Meier.. then Hoover.. then probably Wes Moore.

Ha... Walz would be 2nd.. I'd forgotten Louisville was in the ACC for a minute

Louisville entered the ACC in 2014, so Moore would be 3rd with 9 seasons, and Walz with 8 seasons. But you're right about Hoover in second place with 10 seasons.

Yeah. you are right... I was thinking of when Walz first took over Louisville... I think it was 2008.

So who's going to hit the portal? Don't really know the players. Anyone give us a prediction?

That will greatly depend on who they name as the next HC. They also have a very good commit coming in next season (T.Latson #14 HG)

They are largely juniors and seniors.... but I guess that doesn't make a difference anymore

Fabulous career for Semrau. Her teams were always competitive and capable of pulling big upsets despite never having many top recruits. 20+ yeDa Came very close to F4 many years.

I think 2015 was her best squad.... lost to ND in the ACC championship game, and to SC in the Regional Final here in Greensboro. They lost in the 2017 Regional Final to SC as well.

They came painfully close in 2015...I really wanted FSU to pull it out for Semrau.

SC was very fortunate to advance out of Greensboro that year. Both games were decided in the last minute. I had mixed feelings... FSU was the ACC school.... but I was a big Staley fan.. and also didn't want to see thousands of garnet clad fan leaving the Coliseum with sad faces either.

Wow. This is a shocker. I know she took a pause a year or two ago. Great Coach. Had FSU highly competitive every year and created a solid program there.

I keep checking the thread to see that FSU has finally announce Brooke Wyckoff as the coach but yet no news. To me, the longer this gets drawn out, the less I feel like Brooke will get the job. I mean she was awesome last year with the team, getting them to overachieve. We has a couple of FSU fans on the board but they seem to have gone into hibernation. I know one of them felt Sue underachieved given their other sports competing for NCAAT so I wonder if FSU want to make a bigger splash in the Coaching Pool...Just odd to me...anyone have any insight?

I haven't heard anything. If not Wyckoff who would be a good fit? I'm concerned that if it's not her then the players will start hitting the portal.

The Jackson St coach would be a great fit to me but I don't see her leaving, she seems happy at JSU unless money is a factor.

Per this thread, maybe the coach is still coaching in the tourney? Then again, UCLA's Men's AC Michael Lewis was just named head coach of Ball State and UCLA is still in the tourney, although probably not after tonight.

Of all the remaining teams/coaches the only two I confess knowing little about are the Creighton and South Dakota coaches. The other 14 are not going anywhere.

Rooster C: Two players, most notably Morgan Jones, have hit the portal, but I get your point: it could be a mass exit the longer the admin. waits.

DefenseBB: Pretty much in the same place as you -- Thought this would've been announced about two days after Sue S. departed. Can't think of someone from that FSU neck of the woods/industry that comes to mind, save for someone like Karl Smesko, from FGCU. However, he seems determined to stay at the beach or in Florida, so maybe???

Still, I thought Wyckoff had done a stellar job in very tough circumstances and could hold together the current roster and attracted some new folks. We'll see....
