Here are today's combos in order:

1) Sarah, Serah, Ash, KK, Azzi
2) K9, Azzi, Sarah, Jana, Ash
3) Allie, Jana, Azzi, K9, Sarah
4) Ash, K9, Jana, Sarah, Allie
5) Allie, Serah, KK, Sarah, Ash
6) Azzi, KK, Sarah, Serah, Ash
7) Jana, Ash, KK,Azzi, K9
8) Allie, Jana, KK,Azzi, K9
9) K9, Azzi, Jana, Allie, KK
10) Carol, Azzi, Jana, Allie, KK
11) Sarah, Serah, Azzi, Ash, KK
12) Azzi, Allie, KK,Serah, Sarah
13) K9, Azzi, Sarah, Serah, Allie
14) Jana, Ice, K9, Kelis, Allie
15) Ice, K9, Kelis, Carol, Jana
16) Ice, Carol, Kelis, Ay, KK
17) Ash, KK, Ice, Carol, Ay
18) K9, Ice, Ay, Carol, Ash
19) Carol, Kelis, K9, Ice, Ay

As you can see, Geno is really mixing up the combos to find what works the best. My favorites were Numbers 8,9 and 10 because they were "small ball" lineups. Yours?

I think you meant to type "n'est-ce pas." But yes, it suggests that Allie's path is on the ascendant.
One is "isn't it?" the other is "isn't it so"? Either way Allie is getting a lot of looks. She played 21 minutes, Ash played 20. Caroline has the better all around game in my book. Just a. question of her health. We may have quite a contest going on at the 3 spot when Blanca comes back.

I lived in Geneva, Switzerland for a year and never heard anyone say 'n'est pas". The ce is a necessary additive.

@BBallF, I believe you may have missed my favorite lineup, which would be 8.5 on your list. Your 8 and 9 are the same lineups. You missed one in between.

At 4:39 of the second quarter, with the score, 33-23, Jana was subbed out for Sarah, creating the lineup of Sarah, Azzi, KK, K9 and Allie. That lineup outscored FSU, 14-2, in 3 minutes and 4 seconds, after which Jana was subbed back in for Sarah at 1:35.

In his presser (at 8:22), Geno says: "I love that lineup . . . . that lineup kind of makes us who we are."

I hope Allie was really happy to hear what he said.

#1, but let me add that Ash does many things really well, however putting the ball in the basket hasn't been one of them. If she doesn't start scoring she is going to lose minutes to K9, Allie, etc. who can also do many things really well and score.

Geno in the post-game presser said he really (but, wait, not three "reallys" 😀 ) likes "small ball".

I stand corrected. Gael posted the actual "Geno Post-Game Comments" in #10. But again, no three "reallys" so can we really believe it?

Geno's comments about loving "small ball" could just be a tacit recognition that until he finds the magic combination that will dominate the front court he will lean to pressing and tight perimeter defense with a four guard lineup.

A casual, not-too-difficult-to-notice observation after two games: Serah is in the lineup only when Sarah is also on the floor. They seem to have a good relationship and certainly appears deliberate by Geno in order to help Serah as she gets accustomed to UConn's quicker-paced offense than she is used to experiencing at WI.

8) Allie, Jana, KK,Azzi, K9
9) K9, Azzi, Jana, Allie, KK
10) Carol, Azzi, Jana, Allie, KK

All lineups with Strong and Fudd are my favorites.

Lol, that lineup was when i realized Geno was just pulling straws to see who'd play

Ok, I stand corrected.
Wait. You accept his correction just like that but not mine? I actually am Swiss, with cousins living in Genève. Nobody looks better in a beret than me… or a toucque.

  • Small ball remains a core strength.
  • {Serah, Jana, Ice, Ayanna} are certainly better than just last year’s postseason {Jana, Ice}.
  • Very promising start and trajectory.

Thanks for this.

I'm guessing you're developing the list from the info in the play-by-play. If that's so, how about appending each list with the game time when it was made, like 4:45 Q1?
