Other than UConn, which will always be the game of the night when they play, this is the next best game of the night! I think FSU is more battle tested due to their schedule than NC State is but with Cunane outplaying Gillespie this year and it at the Wolfpack den, I am choosing a close win for Wes.

4:30 left first quarter...FSU leads 6-5 and to the line for a FT when play resumes. Neither team shooting well; FSU 3 of 7 from the field...NC State is 2 of 8.

Kayla Jones with 2 more at the first-quarter buzzer.,..she has 8 points already. NC State getting into a rhythm, leading 18-10 at the end of the first quarter.

NC State off to a great start in this game, up 22-11 early in 2Q.

NC State up 29-16 at the 2nd quarter media timeout. Wolfpack Women now shooting 50% for the game, while FSU is shooting 33%. Kayla Jones, Jakia Brown-Turner and Elissa Cunane each have 8 points for NC State. Kia Gillespie leads FSU with 7 points.

Cunane has at least 2 fouls, not called, but otherwise is schooling Baldwin. Wes Moore has blown past Sue in less than half the time and it hurts

Halftime: #9 NC State leads #13 Florida State, 36-21. NC State shot 51.6%, on 16 of 31 shooting, including 4 of 10 from long-range. FSU shot 30.8% on 8 of 26 shooting and was only 2 of 10 from THREE.

Elissa Cunane (12) and Jakia Brown-Turner (11) lead the NC State scoring, with Kayla Jones contributing 8 points.

Florida State was led in scoring by Kiah Gillespie (9) and Nausia Woolfolk (7).

NC State out-rebounded Florida State, 20-14. Elissa Cunane had 7 boards for NC State.

Florida State was 3 of 7 on FT. NC State has yet to attempt a free shot.

This may be the best I've seen NC State play this season, and the worst I've seen Florida State play. (But I admit I didn't see FSU lose to Georgia Tech.)

You beat NC State by attacking inside early and often to draw fouls. FSU did the exact opposite and settled for long shots. FSU needed to attack the inside from the get go(I know it is not easy Cunane is awesome and Jones is great as well) but they did not. I hate to say it as an FSU fan, but the NC State players are much more aggressive and look like they want to win more.

GT game was full Chernobyl for FSU

4:21 left 3rd quarter, NC State still leads, 44-30. FSU showing some signs of urgency now. Elissa Cunane now with 16 points and has 9 boards for NC State. Kiah GIllespie has 15 points for FSU.

End of 3rd quarter, NC State ahead, 52-34. Cunane with another double-double, Brown-Turner with 11 points and now Ace Konig has reached double figures with 10 points.

Gillespie still has 15 for FSU.

NC State is looking good; they may end up being the 2 seed in Greenville or maybe the in Ft. Wayne.

.-.
With 8:25 left in the game, Jada Boyd attempts the first FT for NC State.

I can hear that dude yelling again.... he must sit right by the sideline mic's :p

4:36 left...NC State up 61-47 but FSU shooting two FT when play resumes. FSU has been chipping away from what was a 20-point lead for NC State.

FINAL: NC State defeats Florida State, 68-51. NC State improves to 16-1, 5-1 ACC. Florida State falls to 15-3, 4-3 ACC.

For the game, NC State shot 45.8% from the field, on 27 of 59 shooting, including 7 of 21 from THREE. The Wolfpack Women were 7 of 10 from the FT line.

Up next for NC State: Wake Forest, Sunday afternoon. The Demon Deacons have been playing well, here of late. NC State has dominated that series.

Cough, cough. Stanford @ Oregon?

I watched the game, because I like the North Carolina State team and, especially, Cunane. Does anyone know whether she has an injury? Although she had a great game, she seemed to favor her left leg. She didn't seem to jump as well. She went to floor several times and showed some pain on her face.
