Florida made the big shots. UConn missed too many good looks. That’s the difference. The narrative that UConn was way overmatched by Florida’s superior athletes was wrong.

Surely it wasnt the eight dunks we gave up, the ten or so missed wide open 3s, the six fast break points we left on the table, the complete lack of rebounding in the last five minutes....yeah it was that particular AK play.

We didn't play our A game, but for 30 minutes we played better defensively than we did all season and we just melted down on both ends of the court in the last 5.

In the end, it wasn’t a championship roster. We had a great game plan, executed it well, but missed some easy shots and made a few poor plays down the stretch. Hard to be too upset.

Same story all year long - could not make open shots. Its not enough to get good shots, at some point you have to MAKE those shots. Ball, McNeeley, and Karaban combined 6-26 from three. Most of them good looks. You have to make those shots, simple as that.

No doubt they should’ve won. Still, one of the best performances of the year. This isn’t the ‘23 or ‘24 squad. Proud of the boys. Go Huskies!

Well it played out almost as well as I could have hoped. UConn did everything strategically perfect.

The loss came down to four things.

1) missed fastbreaks
2) missed open threes
3) missed rebounds
4) stellar shot making from Clayton at the end

Games like this show me how good we have it to have Hurley as the coach with his assistants. They set up an excellent strategy and made great calls almost all game. That team UConn lost to just motorboated the SECs best all year.

It’s a shame that UConns beat shooters just couldn’t hit any open shot all game long. Sometimes that’s just the way the ball bounces.

Reality check? We lost a ton of pieces after winning two titles. We had a couple of recruiting misses. We knew this team was deeply flawed going into the tourney and still held out own against the one-seed.

Sign me up for our floor being a top-50 team winning a games or two in March.

I'm proud of this team. They left it all on the floor.

Tough end to a season. Hurley coached an amazing game. We gave us a chance to win, and that's all we can ask for.

At some point, we have to make shots. We had chances to extend the lead but didn't execute. We missed many open 3s.

No doubt UConn will be better next year. Have faith in Hurley and the coaching staff to put together another championship level team.

I love the effort. They played their best defensive game of the season. Executed really well on offense.

Just so dissapointing they predominantly lost this game due to 2 factors:

1. Missing so many open looks all over the floor, predominantly from 3, something they're usually really good at.

2. Defensive rebounding, which they have been inconsistent at.

Love the team. Just dissapointed that it was a game to be had, should have been a win, and the 3-Peat that looked possible if we got past UF is over.

Florida may go onto win the title but all these CBB writers and talking heads that are comparing them to last year's UConn team are crazy. I even saw Dauster calling back to Hurley's bulletproof comments from last year, they're not like that.

I think that’s already been factually impossible seeing they beat an 8 seed by 2 and they have 4 losses already.

Disappointed, but less upset than I expected to be. Was actually more upset after the Seton Hall and Villanova losses. It’s roster building time and baseball season, enjoy the offseason!
