In a lot of ways this was the toughest loss to watch of the season because they finally showed the kind of grit we knew they were capable of on defense but just couldn’t get the shots to fall. Left me with that “what could have been” feeling. Proud of the constant effort and improvement all season

After a close loss to a potential future Champion It’s a good opportunity for Dan to reflect with his returning players and plant those seeds like he did in 2023 to Hawkins, Jackson, and Sanogo.

Yes it was winnable. We knew everything had to come together to get that win. They showed all heart.

The chat got a bit scary there for a bit. Please please please don't be dumb and send hate messages to the players. While it's disappointing, the run had to eventually end...and they put up a great fight against a team that absolutely could be the champs at the end of the day.

But I will say we definitely played well enough to win the game and most certainly could have won with a bit more attention to detail at the end of the game. Sloppy play did us in..

Thought Hurley coached a good game but wish we did something different during that five minute scoring drought down the stretch.

I remember a game in the early 1990's against Georgetown where every time we had what appeared to be a reasonably open shot they fouled and sent us to the free throw line. We went about six minutes without scoring from the field, and although we were able to keep a small lead during that stretch, once they stopped fouling, with about two minutes left we couldn't hit a shot.

I had flashbacks of that when Florida kept sending us to the foul line.

If I was mayland / CO state i'd be studying film from this game like madmen. We gave it our all - can't be mad.. but Florida looks flawed and the right team is going to take advantage of that.

Great gameplan. Needed to shoot better and get crunch time rebs. Guards matter in march come closing time and Clayton was best player on the floor. Need someone like him next year.

The effort was there. Defense for the most part was great. We went after loose balls and won a bunch of 50/50 balls. They just didn't have the final push to rise up and make it over the top of the hill. They didn't show it all year but at least they tried. We need some more toughness injected into the program.

Proud of our guys. Played their hearts out. Hurts because I thought we had them. I privately thought we would lose by 20 so it feels like a missed opportunity more than a crushing loss. Hurley coached a great game. Shots just didn't fall and Clayton got on a heater at the wrong time. Silver lining is now we will be able to concentrate on portal on time for once.
