I had the same question. He kneeled down and crossed himself, then got up and went to the sidelines. What did he get the unsportsmanlike penalty for?
he did the same thing a bunch of other kids have gotten flagged for across college football this year and did some sort of goofy mimed gun shot at the opposing team.

It's like you don't know us at all.
Oh. I know most everyone even here though I am a secondary player. But "harshing the mellow" after a decent -- if not major -- win like that I thought was a cardinal sin. Maybe bad taste would be a better way of putting it.

Congrats, UConn!!! But beat Buffalo and we will all be more impressed.

On a more serious note, however, whatever they are doing in practice regarding tackling, they should keep on doing it. Real progress noted.

Then you probably know that "you don't know us at all" is a Boneyard meme.

.-.
I thought Bell's catch kinda flipped the "on" switch for us. A ball that Evers probably shouldn't have thrown, but a pick was as good as a punt in that situation. Bell made a great play to stop his route and undercut the outside defender; Im not gonna credit Evers for putting the ball low and outside on purpose but I will give him props for giving Bell a chance to make a play on third and long... That and then Porters catch in the end zone... Who are these guys? and Porter a freshman?
That ball had INT written all over it. Bell made a sensational play to not only avoid the pick but make the catch with two defenders all over him.

We are seeing the benifits of having an offensive line coach be OC. Sammis did a great job of playing to Evers stengths.

I was impressed with the defense…but the FAU QB obviously was one dimensional and UConn took advantage of that. the 3-3-5 is growing on me.

Evers was similar to Turner and Roberson…but obviously more athletic. I think this is a good confidence booster for him.
A competent Oline coach because Guifre was terrible at both.

Agreed…and less targeting.

I'll never stop getting a kick out of posts from people at home talking about what they want to see from fans that actually buy tickets and go to games.
Some of us don't have the ability to go to games because we're at the stage of our kids lives where they have sports all weekend. But thanks for your insight, I'll make sure to take them to heart next time I consider how and what I post.....I forgot that people who go to games are the only ones who can comment on things at the game.

My post is a frequent bitch of mine that I could have attached to several posts, yours just happened to be where I was when I pulled the trigger this time. And of course you can comment on whatever you want, but posts critical of those fans stepping up by fans who are not, for whatever reason, are always going to rub me the wrong way.

This is where I'm at. Few more years and they're off to college.

Maybe that's true for the fans of the soccer teams, but don't put this qualifier on the general UConn fan population.
Some historical background: Until the late 80's many suburban towns didn't have youth & high school football teams, whereas the industrial towns had VERY competative programs. As more families moved to rural suburbia, (Avon, Simsbury, Guilford, etc.) youth & high school football followed.
As a corollary, interest in college football grew in those areas as well.
Coach, Simsbury was a big football town in the 60s and 70s. Rollie Morrison was the coach at Simsbury from 1958 to 1976 and had a record of 109-43-3. In the 60s, they were a power in Class M, then as the town grew, were a power in Class L in the early to mid 70s. Youth football I think started in Simsbury in the late 1960s.

We lost to Duke, got obliterated by Maryland and all decent bowl slots are committed to particular conferences. So, in a word, no.

That having been said, we’re obviously a significantly better team than we were last year. Let’s beat Buffalo and Temple at home and go on from there.
Wtf is wrong with people?

UConn will get in a bowl, but if it runs the table they won’t even be ranked. Let’s go Beef O Brady bowl, or whoever it is now.

Lol. Flip side is they get to keep the entire bowl fee.

My question is why didn't they do it prior to the season? But progress, like gold, is where you find it.

BTW, if we run the table we will be ranked or "others with votes."

My guess is that they were operating under some kind of full pads contact restriction. It smacks of a policy thing. Of course if they start injuring guys in practice, that will not be good. A risk worth taking.

I hear you but I wasn't being critical of anyone leaving in my original post. Just stating that the fact that people were leaving was likely because it was late and for once, it was because we were winning by so much and not losing by so much.
