Think we’ll see the game Saturday- first time seeing them live since 1980s YaleBowl games. Never been to Rentsler (?) field. Basic info needed- what do tickets cost? Are seats good anywhere or where should we sit? What does a hamburger cost? Any good CT beers and what do they cost? Any other suggestions for enjoying the upcoming win?
 
The Rent is a great stadium. Good visibility everywhere. Simple to navigate. Tickets for Air Force game appear to be in high demand going for around $50 to $100. Food and drinks are expensive, so pre-fueling and in game maintenance is cost effective. If you go in cold, for 2 people you’ll drop $50 in a heartbeat and more likely $100 if you are enjoying beverages. There a numerous beer and mixed beverage vendors. My favorite is the coffee bar where you can drop in some Jameson and Bailey’s which is great to warm the gullet. Enjoy the game. Should be a great crowd and the team is fun to watch. We’ve got some really special players.

PS - the parking is atrocious notwithstanding what should be gobs of parking space. Just terrible traffic flow.
 
Park across the street from the stadium at the Aircraft Club. 544 Silver Lane on Google Maps. Easy in, very easy out. Good sight lines everywhere, my favorite cheap seats are in the upper deck behind the student section, 211-16 or so. They go for 27.50+. Right now you can get 2 lower bowl chair backs on the 40 for $57.50+. Best selection through the UConn ticket office. Nothing cheap inside but they have Headway, Sip and Two Roads for about $14 a can. Burgers are around the same, they have a Bear's BBQ and a Dairy Bar truck inside.

If you are feeling social, walk to the stadium early through the tailgaters and comment if something looks good. Chances are, you'll be invited in. And I also know that there are friendly folks on this board that tailgate. Perhaps they'll give you an invite.
 
It used to be easy to get cheap tickets while tailgating and walking to the gates. I paid $20 for tickets a few times. Not sure how it is now. I think all the seats are great but I like to walk around and often stand on the concourse while watching. And if you are on the end, you can always walk to midfield seats in the upper deck, unless the place is completely sold out.

I would try to eat before going in, whether grilling or bringing grinders, or hooking up with a tailgate party. Most chefs are proud to serve you if you know someone in their crew. It is truly amazing to see how much food is being cooked up in the tailgating lots. It is glorious!
 
Be careful buying Merch at the Co-Op kiosks: way overpriced. e.g. golf shirts that I've seen at Yankee Stadium vendors or at the Fenway gift shop for $ 60-70 were $ 160.00. same manufacturer. I also notice that ski hats are a much inferior quality than those sold 2 years ago & a higher price. You can do much better purchasing on-line...
 
regarding tickets from scalpers: with the majority of ticket purchasers opting for e-ticketing, I've much fewer scalpers in Blue Lot this season. Basically it was the same person for all home games & he was getting frustrated with the lack of paper tickets.
 
Also regarding tickets, the Athletic Department sent out e-mails & on facebook after the Huskies won their 6th game that tickets for the last 2 home games would be discounted by $ 6.00 off retail.
Call the office at 1-877-AT-UCONN to see if the sale is still in effect...
 
Alcohol was sold at half price before the Duke kickoff. I assume that must be true for every game. So there is that. Also, as already posted, Jameson in your coffee or hot chocolate is a great drink on a cold day!

Where are you coming from and how many tickets will you need? I may be able to get you a blue lot pass and some tickets (no charge). Will know by late Wednesday or Thursday.

My only request (in lieu of charging) is that you not only make it to a game or two next season on your own dime (it is very reasonably priced entertainment), but you also try to talk about buddy or two into going to a game or two.

If you are into drinks with spirits in them vs beer, the Dogfish Head Vodka Crush Blood Orange Mango is outstanding. I usually go with 6 to 8 people and I bring new people every week and everyone loves it. It is only (as far as I know) sold in the concourse near the stairs to section 240.

My advice go early, get in easier and closer to park and head in about 30 or so minutes before kickoff - so you can grab a beverage and be at your seat at the start. It tends to backup at the gate about 15 minutes before gametime and you may miss some plays.

Love seeing this. I'm not gonna lie, a part of me feared a letdown in attendance this week, with the BYU game in Boston later that evening. I know people will have plenty of time to make both games, but I was worried many would pick one or the other. With a top 10 opponent and possible #1 overall pick coming to Boston I thought many would pick basketball. This is UConn, after all. It is still our bread and butter.

Thrilled to know my fears were unfounded and people are giving the football team the support it deserves for homecoming!

Just curious, is anyone here planning on attending both events?

Way too late to implement, but how cool (literally and figuratively) would it be if they had an option to stick around to watch the BYU game on the jumbotron at the stadium.

Busy day for UConn sports, and a busy night for UConn Huskies fans in Boston. Some UConn fans will be at The Rent, then head to Boston for top 15 UConn hockey’s last ever game in Matthews Arena (vs Northeastern 7:30 pm).

From St Botolph St in the South End to Causeway Street, a lot of National Flag Blue and White anticipated in Storrs North.

How cool would have been to have a caravan of tour busses going from the Rent to the Boston and fans get to go to both the football game and either the basketball or hockey games??

Laz has been uniquely inept for the last two home games. I saw 3 Laz employees stand and watch 2 other Laz employees try to start a new row of parking, but all they did was confuse and frustrate the drivers of the cars that were lining up. Finally a guy who I guess was a Laz supervisor trotted towards the mess, yelled a little, made some arms movements and trotted away. The confusion continued unabated.

You’d think the cops and LAZ could figure out how to manage traffic flow from
84 into the grounds with efficient parking after 2 decades. I guess I ask too much. I love when they block off lots that are visibly capable of handling more vehicles so it becomes the next lot’s problem..until everything degenerates into cars crossing flows, cars stuck changing lanes, cars stopping trying to sneak by cones and trying to convince LAZ drones to let them in. The system is a thin veneer of order masking utter disorganization.
