First Practice

Really all our weaknesses with the starting 5 have been addressed. Dre’s shooting, Jordan’s ball handling and lack of physicality, Adama’s rim protection, we’re ahead of where we were last year bc of Europe and last years post season.

The only real questions we have is bench/bench depth. It would have been really nice if Alleyne was willing to stay and play another roll. I think we have to go short bench, maybe 2 or 3 guys most in the rotation. The general trend has been shorter benches, last year wasn’t normal. With this schedule we just can’t have times in critical games where we have 4 freshman on the court.

Was 194 when he got here. Now is 225. Give Gavin a raise

He was probably over 210-220 in high school, . Impressive work by the kid to drop that much weight before getting to UConn and then get up to 225 over the past few months.

It's pretty strange to lose 30 lbs in a matter of months and gain it all back. It certainly isn't all muscle but he looks like he shed his baby fat and turned some of it into muscle. Pretty impressive.

He seems to be the least talked about freshman along with Singare who is most likely a project but I think Jaylin is going to be awesome. It might take a little time but he's a really versatile and gifted player. This class is ridiculous.

This is the main advantage this year versus last. This year's team's weaknesses are now less obvious. The loss of potential explosive and unstoppable scoring of Hawkins when he was hot (as he was all but two halves of the NCAA tournament), as well as his occasional athletic defensive plays (although he did also turn the ball over too much and have defensive lapses in our losses), Jackson's dramatically athletic rebounds and defensive plays and spectacular passes (although in addition to shooting he did sometimes try to do too much and got ill-advised fouls and technicals) will certainly be missed
