are they wearing the new unis?

No on the new unis.

Had to be the most boring spring "game" I've ever attended. Game starts at noon and it's halftime by 12:30 pm.

No running game at all. Passing...eh....

A yawner for sure.

Explains the lack of appeal nationally for the program. What was a ACC thinking. There's plenty of appeal to Uconn football.

So because the spring game was boring to 1 poster it explains the lack of appeal nationally for the program?

Some of you take the self pity thing to a whole new level.

Firstly, a game keeps score and has stats. This practice started around 12:12 and ended at 1 pm with is a good 50 minutes or so. However, Open your eyes its more than the game or practice. There is no buzz around the program. A serious Lack of media coverage the entire spring, with the school seemingly providing as little access as possible. . Just a boring offseason. from a complacent program.

Some of it is true. As long as this coach is the coach and we finish 5-7 every year you are going to have lack of buzz. You are not going to have a ton of media coverage if there is nothing interesting to cover. None of that explains a lack of appeal nationally because most spring games are boring and UConn has multiple wins over every school that has been rewarded with a conference invite. You create buzz not by more puff pieces in the Courant or 3 hour long spring games, you do it by winning games. They'll either create buzz by beating Maryland and Michigan next year and making a run at the conference title or they will have the same mediocre season they have had the last 2 years. The spring game being boring means nothing in terms of national perception.

At the end of the season, I wanted P gone. I posted, called sports talk, railed about him at work and the local watering hole. But it's no fun being pissed at one of your teams. So signing day comes and it sounds like it went well. Then the schedule was announced and I'm thinking positively. We had a pretty good tailgate with no rain and I'm feeling good ready to have fun like I usually do at the spring game. And were served a juiceless, low-energy, steaming pile of whatever it was. P is killing this program.

Granted the game length was disappointing but it was non traditional but we knew this ahead of time. The reporters for sny John silver and desmond conner from the courant have been doing several stories. They have written about the lines, linebackers. ROTC. . I don't think the coverage is as bad as you think?

To Everyone who complains about the lack of coverage by the media. We don't want to hear it if you weren't at the game. If you were at the scrimmage you should be able to form your own article. The attendance in the pics looked sad. That Is not the medias fault. Connecticut fans need to get it together. We need o support this team better to be attractive to mother conference

Team needs to win games to get better support. Very simple.

Promotion could have been better. The very nicely done splash ad on uconnhuskies.com was up for how long? Two days? Was it up when everyone was going there to check out the new uniforms? How about a floating ad on the page with the new uniform photos that you have to click through before you can see the photos? Buy the same ad on the Courant site. Run TV ads. Have PP on Sirius College Sports Nation when they're doing their spring FB shows (believe me, they were interviewing EVERYONE'S coach). Do something! Something DIFFERENT!!!!

Ill say this- at least they're consistent.

They don't complain/put up a real stink about not being in a better conference situation OR put in much effort to grow the football program.

I get that a rash of injuries and other things meant they couldn't stage the kind of game that they would have liked to. I also get you want to practice situations that you'll encounter during the regular season.

That said, you have an offense that was so horrible the past two seasons the AD had to force a change at offensive coordinator. At a minimum, you would think the no. 1 priority would be to give the offense some confidence.

So why in the world would you pin your offense back deep in your own territory to start the scrimmage and then run the same FREAKING PLAY you ran on first down 90 percent of the time last year????? If there's one thing PP absolutely does not get is PR.

Really seemed like PP put the clamps on what TJ said he wanted to do (and what his job description said). Very disappointed in no use of no huddle/hurryup & very limited use of screens & misdirection. Saw flashes of good play from offense once they got a little field position. FWIW Casey seems to be more of a leader than Chandler. Defense seems as solid as ever. Don't understand why they never changed ends.

Biggest positive from the day? GDL on sideline with no headset.

They really kicked a FG from the 1-yard line? Really?

I think this is probably the best way to put it. I follow this board regularly. When I clicked on this link, I assumed it was a joke link to discuss which running play up the middle was going to be the first play from scrimmage. I am finding out for the first time that the spring game was played already...I had no idea.

They don't have the full compliment yet... you saw a sample on Thursday. That's all.

Expectations were low for today after hearing all week about the injuries and format. It was a open live practice.

I didn't go because the program sucks, I'm guessing I'm not in the minority. You can't create excitement by encouraging fans to go. You create excitement by being exciting...and good.

I remember Spring finales in what seemed like practice pinney's. I don't think you roll out your new uniforms for a Spring game. The first play I had to chuckle inside but it was the first play and from the one yard line. The FG from the one was situational football which is what they were doing. Why was it a yawner? Each QB had their positives but this position and a RB who can be a real threat are what is lacking to having an exciting event. They did read option type plays but the QB never kept the ball which is all about getting out of today healthy. We are a work in progress in many areas.
