Do we know if there will be any recruits or potential recruits coming to see the First Night festivities?

Crystal Dangerfield will be making an unofficial visit then. See Carl Adamec's blog.

So it's true? We're gonna have some "special visitors" on campus this weekend?

Would be quite interesting to get commitments from kids who are either pretty much (Dangerfield) or exactly (Irwin) in a major team's backyard. They ain't got no respect.

We do that all the time. Who is not from a major team's backyard? We have two from Syracuse and the fans there are still upset. KMS had two schools, UCLA and USC in her backyard. What we need is a top 10 commit from South Bend.

This would be a major coup. I was also surprised TN was not on her list but they do change.

We did get Kelly Farid. Getting kids from CA where the options to UConn aside from Sranfird haven't been at UConn's level would seem easier than getiing a top 10 from anywhere in TN away from UT is a very hard to do. And College Park isn't just some town in PA. It's their Storrs or Mansfield.

Ms Dangerfield is from Murfreesboro, close by Nashville. The cultures of Nashville and Knoxville are vastly different, sort ot like Cleveland/Columbus or San Francisco/Los Angeles.

Correct. It would be like stealing from Vanderbilt, not Tennessee.

If thieves wanta brag, it's up to them to say where they got something.

Let's steal from Vandy and say it was Tennessee. That'll leave LV fans counting the spoons and getting even more paranoid.

Thank goodness for the difference, for Nashville's sake.

But I think this would count as "stealing one" from TN. UT is a state university serving primarily Tennessee, including the whole state. Over 65% of Vanderbilt's students are from outside the Southeast, while 2/3 of UT's undergrads are from Tennessee.

I think the Vols would feel she got away too.
