First Night Questions

My 12 year old daughter is lobbying me to go. I know it opens up at 6:00 pm but given that we are the reigning NCs, should we come earlier? Any tips or suggestions?

We are thinking of bring our ten-year-old son, but it will be a mad rush after work to get there by 7:00 even -- are the concessions open for First Night so I can get some food into him?
