Dayton should be ranked higher then 17th as they beat Kentucky, Louisville and gave UConn a battle for a half. Probably should be around 10th.
I disagree. Dayton also lost 3 times to the team at #25 George Washington and a team not in top 25 in Wasington State. They played well against UCONN and as you said beat Kentucky, Louisville so 17 seems about right to me.

Since Dayton did not get even 1 vote in the previous poll, maybe #17 was about as high as they could go even with an impressive E8 performance, but a case could easily be made for them to be one spot higher, switching with a 10 loss KY team that went 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Simple logic would pose they might have been placed in the top 16 since they had won in that round before losing in the E8. Putting them at 16 would acknowledge that with moving them excessively higher.

I think that Dayton was actually better than #17 at the end of the year. Over the course of the year, perhaps not.

I largely agree with the top 8-10.

It's nice to see recognition for the following: Dayton, Princeton, Florida Gulf Coast, St. Johns (gave us a tough game), Miami (beat ND), Gonzaga, Rutgers.

Rankings are so spotty. I have no problem with the top four. 6-10 gets me. I would have Louisville at 8. Iowa 10. Tennessee 9. ASU (11) would not be in the top ten. Nor would North Carolina (12).
