From the same article:ESPN today seemed to imply that Roger Ayers may have been left off this list because of the strange "head-butt" incident at the end of the game. I thought it was strange when it happened but didn't think about it again until I read the ESPN article. What was that interaction all about? My first instinct was they just ran into each other in the commotion and awkwardly paused to avoid further contact. But it was the lack of friendliness (no smile) that made you wonder if there was an issue.

I saw that. Pure clickbait. It didn’t actually make the claim but that was clearly the implication without anything to support it.ESPN today seemed to imply that Roger Ayers may have been left off this list because of the strange "head-butt" incident at the end of the game. I always fall for the clickbait. Did you see Karaban's barstool interview where he mentioned that ref was "cool" and more personable than other refs and he was going to ask Hurley about it during practice? Sounded like he thought Hurley's tough guy facial expression was just a playful act in the moment with a ref he knew well would not take it the wrong way. Whatever it was the ref is saying it was nothing so best to believe him I guess without anything to think otherwise.I saw that. Pure clickbait. It didn’t actually make the claim but that was clearly the implication without anything to support it.
Usually that is done by leaning in cheek to cheek so you are talking right into their ear.It wasn't a head butt and shouldn't be referred to that way. That just makes it click bait. It was incredibly loud in the arena after Braylon hit the shot, so maybe they just needed to be that close to hear each other.
There was no issue.

How would it be a technical? He didn't touch him or say anything, he just glared at him. It's crazy how some people are still interpreting this after both Roger Ayers and Hurley explained it was absolutely nothing and it's known around college basketball Ayers is a great ref and Hurley is a big fan of his.
I sent all of this to my Illini, Kansas, and Kentucky buddies I'm in a text thread with for well over a decade. These are knowledgeable fans who root for UConn when it doesn't involve their teams. The Illini and Kansas fan said they don't buy any of what Ayers or Hurley are saying. It should've been a technical and if Brad Underwood does that against UConn on Saturday he's tossed out of the game.
It's a bit shocking that's their reaction.

Hurley Derangement SyndromeFrom the same article:
ESPN's Seth Greenberg said on "SportsCenter" that he spoke Monday with Ayers, who told Greenberg that "nothing happened" with Hurley. Greenberg, a former longtime college basketball coach, added that Ayers "literally didn't know what I was talking about" and said that the interaction with Hurley was "absolutely nothing."
A nothing burger people are trying to make a big deal out of because they hate Hurley and want to see him fail.
Not sure how anyone at the NCAA thinks Breeding is a good ref who should be doing a Final Four. No Brian O'Connell so that's good

I think it was a failed kiss.
That's what it looked like. If anything it looked like a cute tender moment between them, of course people try and make it a violent altercation.I think it was a failed kiss.
It certainly looked bizarre........
Hopefully he is doing the other game or is an alternate🤮🤮🤮🤮 James BrEaDIng.
Unbelievable.
