Final Four Games UH/Baylor & Gonzaga/UCLA

This was the worst officiated game in NCAA Tournament history. The refs just stopped calling fouls on UCLA. It is easy to play defense when a team can foul with impunity.

I'm still haunted by that game (and Arizona vs. Illinois the year before--same thing; Illinois just went all in on forcing TOs, refs wouldn't call fouls, huge come back ensues). It's why I don't buy the whole "whining about refs is for losers" school of thought. Sometimes the zebras absolutely do change the outcome of a game.


I'm rooting for GU, but I'm totally impressed by UCLA. This has been a hell of a game right from the beginning.

Yeah to me that is play on. That is one thing I appreciate about the 1999 title game-they didn’t give Battier cheap charge calls

Just about every game since the Sweet 16 has been a stinker except for UCLA games (and Oral Roberts). Not rooting for them but they've made this tourney watchable.

They won 4 straight tournament games by 15+, but sure, a team hits 10/15 from midrange and it's fair to judge them as mediocre.

Gonzaga might not know how to play in a close pressure packed game as they have not played in one all season.

I am pulling for them. UCLA has enough titles.

Zags play with confidence, execute with precision and seem so disciplined In shot selection. think they’ll Keep scoring. All the pressure is on them though so maybe easier for UCLA to play aggressively.

Thats why I'm saying, UCLA didnt have to get a lead they just need to stay within 3 pts but of course a lead puts all pressure on the Zags.
