Scorers and shooters are never redundant.I agree with his point guard take if we're talking roster construction optimization. The three PG thing was a real thing in 2024. Andre was a huge creator on the wing. Solo and Braylon are a bit too redundant, unless Braylon can create more for others than he's shown or Solo takes a jump in that regard.
Solo must take that leap. Has to. I don’t know if it’s in him, but the offense needs him to be a creator for his teammates, as well as an elite shot maker. Otherwise we stall out and he pounds the ball into oblivion. Silas is score first, Solo is score first, Braylon is score first. Scorers, especially on ball scorers, can absolutely be redundant. There's only one ball. Scorers aren't doing anything for you if they're not in the current process of scoring. Shooters are beneficial in quantity for spacing, absolutely, that helps the others in your offense.Scorers and shooters are never redundant.
That is like asking if i have too many pass rushers or too many games breaking wide receivers or too much pitching.
You put them out there, you figure it out around them what you are missing.
And they have to rebound (Solo).Solo must take that leap. Has to. I don’t know if it’s in him, but the offense needs him to be a creator for his teammates, as well as an elite shot maker. I think Stewie is the key to this team being dominant. Something dynamic off the bench would be needed. A guy that might be more of a threat offensively that Karajan, a little more stout at the 4. He has a lot of ability, it's keeping the engine running is the issue.Rob seems to think Stewie is key to better offense…..interesting
I don't think Stewie matters that much, at least not this year. There are more critical pieces we need to step up to figure out their role in this team and congeal, and that's pretty much the entire starting unit plus Smith/Reibe. We have plenty of offense and alternatives to Stew. I'd say Stewie is the 8th or 9th "key" for us this year. I think Ross becoming a defensive stopper on the perimeter is more important. If Stew could ever become a go to bucket in the paint, that might change my opinion. As long as he's a 3 pt shooter, he's redundant and a liability defensively. I'm going to be really curious as to how many minutes/game Karaban logs, and how that imacts Stew's run at the 4. Does Hurley fall victim to his comfort blanket approach and play him 35 minutes/game or does he intentionally keep his minutes down this year to keep him fresh?I think Stewie is the key to this team being dominant. Malachi, Reibe, Stewart. If those 3 play up to their potential, this team has 22-23 vibes all over it.
I just don’t see us playing a 6’5 guy at the 4, Stew will be a senior, and we’ll have Alex’s NIL/Rev share package to offer someone in the portal. Landrews physical package is way more intriguing as a guard/wing as well.Have been saying that Landrew has versatility at the 4 given his frame & the system Hurley runs. As long as he can body up other 4's on defense and provide rebounding, there is no reason he can't play the 4. I could see him taking 20-25 minutes between the 3/4 next year and wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't part of the pitch for guaranteed minutes as there is a better than decent chance we already have starters at the 3/4 next year.
