Those of you that have read my comments know that I like limbs. I'm going out on one now. With a 40+ point lead at the half, I'm putting this one in the refrigerator. This one is over. The only question left is the final margin of victory.

Edit: That was an easy and safe call. USA wins going away by 76 pts. ;)

A double double for Christyn = 19/10. Thoughts?...……………………………….

Huge mismatch talent wise. Chile scored 17 points in the first quarter, which was probably among the worst defensive quarters a USA U18 team has played in quite some time. Hard to evaluate any individual traits in such a one sided game.

109-36 and it's not over. I wasn't aware of the game time and missed most of it. I hope I can find it on replay. Not that it's a nail biter. ;)

Nah, don't bother. You didn't miss anything.

It isn't merely the disparity talent wise, it's the depth of talent. When Walz decided to go to hockey style line changes the US just wore Chile down. This is a physical team, more so than the U17 team, and they are perfectly willing to throw their bodies around.

Blackwell is a nice, quick, physical player, and wherever she goes she's going to be a handful at the next level. Once again CW shows how willing she is to crash the boards and muck it up. She's a brute and can dominate a game in many differenty ways. Joens has shown a nice game going toward the basket. ND has a baller in Peoples who has a nice all around game.

The team as a whole has had problems with the slippery international ball, especially at the line. Hopefully as the games continue they'll become better accustomed to it.

The above link is buffered. Just start it at the beginning.

Sedona Prince - Before yesterday, I had never seen her play. I like her. She's committed to the Univ. of Texas. Karen Aston has got a good one. No doubt we'll be reading/hearing about her for the next 4 years.

Early on, Chile leads: 2-0, 4-2, 7-4, and 9-7. Considering the final score, the start is surprising. CW slices through the defense for a layup. Liv misses a left-hander from in close. She has a bandage on her right hand.

CW missed a layup, got the rebound, and was fouled on the putback.

A few minutes later, she got a strong OR off a teammate's missed FT, missed the first attempt, and made the second one. CW is a good rebounder. She gets off the floor quickly and has strong arms and hands.

Liv got a foul for posting up too hard. A minute later, she scored from rebounding a teammate's miss.

She will have to be careful about reach-in fouls, but she may have the longest wingspan I've seen since Stewie.

With 5:18 left in the first half, Christyn makes a fabulous play. Chile inbounds from the end-line, but CW intercepts at the top of the key, takes the ball behind her back to get it away from the defender, and dribbles the length of the floor for a layup. It was pure Moriah Jefferson or Gabby Williams.

Liv misses a reverse layup off a nice feed from CW, but she grabs the ball and scores on the second try after her teammate misses.

I can see Liv scoring off the offensive glass at UConn.

I think Prince is going to struggle with the speed and athleticism of the college game.
