Rizzotti coaching a team in Edmonton with Joanne Allen-Taylor, Lauren Cox, Linnae Harper, and Breanna Richardson. They won all the games in their pool, including close ones against Germany and Japanese club side EXEWING, which features two Japanese players and Natalie Kucowski and Camille Zimmerman. Force 10 also entered a team of American pros Blake Dietrick, Merritt Hempe, Alexis Peterson, and Kathryn Westbeld, but losses to France and Canada have them on the other side of the bracket.

Watching the games, IMO Van Lith was working very hard to compensate for
something that was missing. When Van Lith was not draining her shots (both
short and long) the writing was on the wall. Ms. Van Lith had one good shooting
game where she bailed out the USA team (unfortunately not against Canada).
Check the stats for all the USA games - to my
eyes each USA player had one (?) good shooting game.
To your point: I agree TEAM CANADA has had a long record of playing together.
Not to mention that the two 6'3" Canadian players were TWIN SISTERS! Now that is
a long time, B-Ball in the womb???
Next up: GlobLJam U 23 Canadian games with A. Edwards starting
on July 5th. Then USA at the U 17 FIBA tournament = many stars
will shine during those games! A good warm up for the UCONN WBB season!
Michelle Plouffe and Paige Crozon were Div I players for Utah, Katherine played at Marquette, and Kacie Bosch played at Gonzaga. It’s not as though Canada grabbed a handful of random nobodies.

Cierra Burdick joined Lauren Cox, Linnae Harper, and Breanna Richardson in Rizzotti's crew in Bucharest. They won both group stage games today over the Czech Republic and a German club team with two native players and two Japanese players to qualify for the knockout stage.

The 3x3 tournament that got some unexpected attention was definitely the one in Konya, Turkey at the Islamic Solidarity Games. Tiffany Hayes and Azerbaijian edged the hosts and then won easily against Kyrgyzstan so they move on to the quarterfinals to defend their crown.

There had been questions about how much she could play because of the lingering injury from the WNBA season, but they posted action shots of her in the championship game so she did her part to win.

Rizzotti is overseeing the team in Quebec consisting of Joanne Allen-Taylor, Cierra Burdick, Lauren Cox, and Breanna Richardson. In pool play, they had a narrow win over Spain and a bigger win over the Czech Republic, but lost to Plouffe-less Canada. That means they need three wins instead of two on Saturday to win a championship.

With her WNBA season over, Emily Engstler was available to join Joanne Allen-Taylor, Linnae Harper, and Breanna Richardson in Montreal:

They won their pool play games against Lithuania and a rather hastily assembled group under the banner of Toronto without any big names so the real tests start Saturday.

The United States defeated Germany in the last group stage game, but the biggest threats were in the group as they lost to France in the semifinals. Canada ended up winning the final.

This will be an interesting team to watch. Became a fan of Burton when she played at Northwestern and was impressed with how she played this season. Not familiar with Zimmerman, but with 3x3 there are a lot of great players who may not have been household names when they played NCAA.
