February UConn in the Pros

The FG% is what jumps out. The other numbers are basically Jokic’s average, lol. 29, 11, 12. He had a 56, 15, 16 game a month ago.

Still amazing for an up and coming kid.
29 a long way from 40

OK, the Sixers/Blazers game made me laugh.

Drummond 1/1 from three at the half.

Clingan 3/3 from three at the half.
Clingan just kinda sorta dunked on Drummond. It was a lob and Drummond backed up and ended up underneath him - so it wasn’t really a straight up posterizing. But a little Nutmegger on Nutmegger violence.

HW611 when Clingan missed his only 3.

Clingan 15/7 (3/4 from 3) with 3 dimes and 4 blocks.

Shout out to Marvin Prince from the Dan Patrick show. He attended UConn and says favorite NBA player is Steph. Marvin’s best of weekend was Steph’s performance and worst of weekend was loss to St. John’s.

Napier on the coaching staff for the Wizards? Not playing anymore, thats crazy. Always felt he got a raw deal in the NBA, he had flashes.

When you're a backup, it's tough for teams to justify paying a veteran's salary.

.-.
He was doing pretty well as a backup PG until COVID. Didn’t return to the NBA after that.

He was, but the minimum salary starts to ramp up pretty quickly. There is almost a million dollar gap between a 7th year player (where Napier would have been in 2021) and a 3rd year guy.

With a salary cap well over a 100 million dollars means that a million dollars is less than one percent of team's payroll. It's a rounding error.

Yikes, Steph took a hard fall after making a ridiculous block when up 28. Appears he is Getting his hip checked out I. Locker room.

Horrible TO by him to start that sequence when he had been playing very well.

there are tax implications that go beyond just the player's salary

Castle update: x rays negative, has a pelvic contusion, and he came down hard on his tailbone. Not sure how much time he might miss, but that team is built to survive injuries.
Says something about a guy willing to go and make a play like that up 30 before heading into All Star break.

But also, please be safe and make better decisions lol

Aiden appears to have found himself again. Great for him!

I have watched the last 10 minutes of game time of 3 of Santa Barbara's games on ESPN Plus. He is definitely the leader of that team even though the scoring is for the most part evenly distributed among the starters. Aidan plays more combo guard than a true PG even though he is 2nd on the team in assists.

Coincidentally enough, they played and got swept by UC Davis, which is a 2 mile walk from my brother in law. I am hoping UC Santa Barbara wins the Big West Tournament and makes the NCAAT and is no where near the bracket of any Big East teams.
