Really tough opening day. Jackson 0-5 in garbage time, Martin 0-2 in a blowout loss, Clingan 0–6 at the half and has blown 3 open layups/dunks, Castle out with a thigh injury, and Newton only had 10 in the G League after four straight games with 30.

At least it’s a short month. With a break in the middle.

It is a bloodbath out there for Clingan tonight. Jarrett Allen of all people notched his career high (33) by the end of the third. He took Clingan to the woodshed in the first half. No other way to say it than DC was just soft this game, though he did have some really tough rebounds sprinkled in.

I was about to say that the bad month continues as Cam kinda struggled. But then he rattled off 3 buckets in a row late (2 threes and a tough fadeaway) to finish with 16 and help the Grizz seal a good win over the T-wolves.

Ty Jerome just came back and is getting a lot of run on a minutes restriction so Cam might see his playing time take a hit. With Jerome and Morant when he returns it might be a tight squeeze.

Breaking: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Utah Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three future first-round picks, sources tell Shams Charania.

What does this mean for Cam?

Bringing in Walter and Ty Jerome coming back probably won’t be good for his playing time.

Ja will probably be moved by the deadline after this though. I’m not sure what the Grizzlies SG rotation looks like for Cam to get minutes there.

Thanks for the info

Not much. This looks like it's getting away from Jaren Jackson's contract and moving Ja Morant. Memphis is starting over.

in the short term not much of an impact because Vince Williams was also playing PG/guard minutes so you can just swap Clayton in there for Williams

Gilbert Arenas with a quick breakdown of Castle’s game.

I think the Grizz see Cam as a big part of their future.

Cam / Clayton / Edey / Coward / Scottie Pippen Jr is real solid, especially if Coward is an all star…which seems likely. Wells and the other Utah kid are good depth pieces. They desperately need to win a lottery, though, because they need another top end piece to contend.

Cam is definitely a part of their future. He’s probably a “top guy off the bench” piece. They need to upgrade from Wells at the 3 and move him to the bench.

That JJJ trade gave them a 28 million trade exception. That will make it easier to get off Ja.

DC 3/3 from 3 right out of the gates 😀
This is what I mean when DC has his first game hitting more than one three in a month and some people are ready to throw a party.

While he had a 21/17 game and 18/11 game in wins during that time.

He’s got 11/6 in the first Q, you’re not happy just cuz he’s hitting 3s?

I’m not not happy. Just find it funny that it’s the point of celebration when he’s had good games without it.

The dude posted his stats, this whole thread is about celebrating UConn nba players. He’s having an awesome game and had an awesome 1st Quarter. You’re complaining that he’s being celebrated.

Odd post.

Whatever that means. You sound wild. I have zero connection with that poster, I didn’t even see who it was. I’m confused by you.

AJax got 12 minutes. Scored 2 points, had 3 assists, grabbed 2 rebounds, and had a steal. Little bit of everything

Drummond got the start and had 29 minutes. 12 points and 12 rebounds. He is somehow a 36% three point shooter on just over 1 attempt per game

Donovan Curry nailed 3 threes to open the game and finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks. Good to see the threes falling last night after going 4-19 in his previous five games

DC is up to 11.2 PPG, 11.2 RPG (4.6 offensive), 2 APG, 1 BPG on the season!

Was looking forward to another Thunder/Spurs matchup and all of the Thunder main guys are out

Clingan had 15 rebounds.

Nice spurt from Steph in the 4th when the Spurs offense was sputtering
