BYU letting Iowa State back in the game by going ice cold from behind the arc.

They don't get a choice, it's just a procedure thing. Only the #1 overall gets to pick their pod/region. Less travel is generally better for teams, and the NCAA sells a lot more tickets by minimizing travel distance overall.
According to those parameters shouldn’t we have been the 2 seed in the east this morning?

Good response from BYU. AJ is special and good defense got the crowd into the game.

I actually really like that Mboup+Keita frontline they've turned to. The spacing isn't great without Saunders, but you don't need great spacing when you have Dybantsa.

Damn Hawaii beats UCSB in OT. Hawaii retired Anthony Carter's jersey. He played 14 seasons in the NBA including for the Miami Heat. He is Devin Carter's father.

Yes, but other stuff happened down the line.

Good grief. It’s just uncanny that in every bracket we’re either the 1 seed in the South with Houston or the 2 seed somewhere other than the East. The exception to the “rules”

BYU is making some incredibly head scratching plays here down the stretch.

Iowa State loses. AJ with a massive game. 1 assist away from a triple double.

I can only imagine what Hurley could do with duke's elite prep/camp pipeline. It's crazy that they don't win more.
More importantly the whistles dook gets…imagine if the refs favored us. 😲

Last night on FOX UCLA was down 33-10 in the first half and came all the way back to tie the game and even take the lead in the second half. Then both teams played even through the second half and UCLA won the game on a bucket in the closing seconds in overtime to win the game. What an upset. So far my favorite game of the year by a team I dont root for.

I think the aj vs peterson choice comes down to whoever comes down with the top pick doesnt want to be known as the guy who picked Sam bowie(aj is much better than Sam bowie) when they could have had MJ(not that petersen is anywhere close to mj).

With peterson the skills, talents, and measurable are all there, unfortunately it's the things you can't measure that are worrisome. I look at it and see a guy who at 18 is either chronically injured which doesn't inspire lots of confidence he’ll stay healthy as he gets older. Or a guy so concerned with protecting himself I’m not sure when I give him guaranteed money he will be there when I need him to be. Then of course you have the whole how involved he will camp be. I don’t need his people spouting off about anything everytime they are unhappy.

Duke isn’t nearly as hateable as they used to be. Scheyer seems like a decent guy and the kids seem like good ones. These aren’t Ks BDs.

That UM team can’t hold a candle to UConn 24. They’d lose by 15. Guard play is C at best.
Scheyer lying about what happened at the end of the UNC game, and then doubling down on it is pretty embarrassing.

He’s a drama queen with resting crying face. If he had said he rather than the assistant had gotten punched I would have been more inclined to believe him

In this class, I’m reducing my risk as much as possible. There are too many amazing options in this one to take a kid with any red flags. I’m all in on AJ myself. I think that kid still has tons of upside, and he does things DP doesn’t. DP does a ton of jump shooting. Boozer is so tough - the kid is so mature and a winner. He out worked UMs front line.

It's too bad. Penny and Grant Hill were my favorite NBA players in the mid 1990s and if it weren't for career debilitating injuries like the knee injury and ankle injury, respectively, they would have been NBA icons. LIke Shaq said in the 30 for 30 special on the Orlando Magic on ESPN, "Shaq and Penny was Shaq and Kobe before Shaq and Kobe".

Having said all of that, Penny is a terrible coach and had no experience coaching college basketball, as a head coach or an assistant, before becoming head coach of Memphis. His prior experience was being a head coach of a Memphis high school team for a few years. Because of that prior experience and his ties in the community of Memphis and his ability, or perceived ability to recruit, he got the Memphis Tigers coaching job. I don't mind that he got an opportunity for this job, but he has been there for 8 years and has not done nearly enough. It's time for him to go just like it was time for Patrick Ewing to go.
