Sure enough Scheyer says his staff was “punched in the face “ during the court storming
just like kyle filipowski /s

With 8 gazillion cameras there, video would have come out already if something had actually happened. The fact that he didn't name anyone is pretty hard evidence that this is at best, an exaggeration, and at worst, complete fabrication to take the heat off the fact that his team folded down the stretch in a big game....again....

Scheyer works the refs like a billionaire mows their own lawn.

As it stands only two teams undefeated (Zona/Miami) and two teams with a single loss this year (Michigan/St Louis), and only 6 teams with two losses.

Make or break time for Zona (@ KU, TT, BYU, @Houston) starting this week. UM gets their gauntlet starting a week later (@ Purdue, Duke (DC), Minnesota, @Illinois).

ISU and Houston also have pretty crazy ends of the year.
Not just this week - look out post 2/20 for some burners....

Feb 21 is gonna be D-Day for hoops top 10
  • UConn at Villanova
  • Arizona at Houston
  • Iowa State at BYU
  • Michigan vs Duke
  • Tennessee at Vanderbilt

2 days later on 2/23
* Houston at Kansas

2 days later on 2/25
* St. John's at UConn

2 days later on 2/27
* Michigan at Illinois

1 more day and 2/28 Sat
  • Kansas at Arizona
  • Texas Tech at Iowa St
  • Seton Hall at UConn
  • Villanova at St. John's

I may have missed some since ESPN NCAA men's BK scheduling doesn't let you pick AP Top 25. but this is going to be an amazingly exciting February.

USC still not looking great but Arenas is really good. 24 and the GW despite struggling 1st half.

Mullins is on a team where he is not the offensive focal or first option. He can get those numbers but not in Hurley’s system. My take is that he has to get more shots driving, and pulling up plus his 3’s to get us where we need to be.

Buzz is bringing the energy to Maryland. Might take a year for them to be really good but he’s a good coach and an energy bringer and they care about hoops.

Mullins isn't on ball, at all. So he won't get the kind of volume to keep up.

Love Mullins, but you do wonder if his profile was the right type to go alongside Solo. Hurley continues to go a bit overshoot profile, not playmaker/athlete. Our 2-4 all all catch and shoot primary.

Right I see Solo as a pure shooting guard who drives, shoots mid, and 3s. Mullins is in a 2/3 split kind of role, but he's not posting up anyone as a forward, he's generally a 2 trying to run off screens or be a ghost. Only in limited times have I seen him drive (other than fast break). At least we see a lot of his 2-pt shooting is golden.

Solo is not a natural on ball guy that you can hand ball to and expect him to playmake. He’s leaned to do some things off the shot fake that are effective but he’s not a natural ball handler.

Lewis deserves ROY regardless of what Mullins will do from here on out.

Take a look at his numbers though, stellar. Far better than either player. Would almost be hard not to give it to him.
He scores a little more than Acaden but Acaden is a little better in everything else and he's doing it for a really good team. If the award goes to a point guard it needs to be Acaden.

Lewis - 12.4ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.3 apg, 47.4% and 26.9%
Baker - 15.5ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.6apg 47.4% 39.5%

Tough call. You're probably right. Sleepers threw it out there as to where Lewis will be next year, almost as if anyone good should consider getting out of the BE. I'll be curious to see what happens with him, as Nova was not on his initial list.

Yep, also has a little more steals and a little less turnovers and beats him by a little in advanced stats.

Why on earth would he leave Nova? They're going to be really good and they pay great.

Playing for a scrub team though, that matters.
It doesn't, though. It's freshman of the year, not player of the year.

And if it did, we should also consider the numbers against good teams, and Lewis has been HORRIBLE against the better teams on their schedule (as he was against UConn).

James is 2nd in points per game for all players in conference play - 19.2 ppg, more assists than Lewis, more rebounds, and significantly better shooting (57% eFG, 46% from 3 compared to 50% eFG, 30% from 3).

If he keeps up that shooting at all, he'll run away with the award by the end of the season. There's a good chance he'll finish 1st or 2nd in the conference in scoring and 2nd in assists.

Not sure there is a great reason to leave, but he strikes me as an opportunistic kid. He had 4 BB's on his initial list, didn't end up with any of them. He's also not really much of an NBA profile, so my guess is he'd really look to land $$ in college.

I didn't realize Nigel James conference stats are so much better than his overall stats.
