Huskers shooting a Huskies-esque 8/15 from 3!

Edit: there's another, make that 9/16

Watching Ill/Nebraska and there are 9 white guys on the court out of 10. No comment other than how often do you see that this day and age?? Nebraska looks very well coached.
I don't know the numbers or all the reasons why but there's a lot more great white players across hoops than there was when I was younger. We certainly see it right at UConn.

Nebraska has 11 threes in the 1st half.

.-.
Maryland was decent enough to win the whole nut in 2002, beat Indiana 64-52. Maryland was 27-9 last year and lost in the sweet 16 to the ultimate winner Florida. Maryland actually didn't make the dance the last 4 years in the ACC. They've bounced around between mediocre and OK but it sure seemed like they were better in the ACC
Was he talking about 2021 when UConn was the 7 seed and Maryland was the 10 seed and beat us in the first round? That game was so frustrating. The Terps were only 16-13 that season so I don't remember how they made the NCAA Tournament.

Illinois v Nebraska- 2 very talented teams.
Great watch
Illinois looks really good. Wagler plays with such calm and intention. Nebraska 39 of 47 points from 3. Anyone with a rim protector should be able to smother them.

I love this Illini team.
They are fun - they play so relaxed, pass well. I think we went Illinois to win this one to move Nebraska off the 1 line. It will be hard to bump Illinois over us given the head to head.

Yes that’s what I was talking about. They were good enough to make the tourney and then beat us the guy said they have sucked since they won it all in 2002, that was a bit of hyperbole.

That was the first example I could think of without doing any research

That Jokic pass Ivisic just made was ridiculous.

Also, 17 total team fouls with under 8 to go in the game. That's the total for a half in Big East games, and there has been a lot of contact in this game. Honestly, this is how a game should be officiated. Big East really needs to work on their product so it's not a parade of fouls.

Also Nebraska is not a very good defensive team. They win with 3 point shooting and good ball movement. When the shots aren't falling, they are very vulnerable as they have no real inside game.

Top 3 of the draft is pretty much set in stone barring something crazy, but after that Wagler will be knocking on the door of that next group of 5. Will be interesting to see how Underwood delegates lead guard duties between him and Boswell once Boswell returns. Their offense is humming with Wagler at the controls.

That's what I was wondering about with Boswell. They were really good with him running point but they've looked like the best team in the country with Wagler running point.

The tip in the middle to the open shooter? Was unreal.

And they don’t even have their PG. It’s making me wonder if they are better with Wagler at the point. They stepped in S with that kid. He’s not the horsepower of DP, but plays way more of a team style.

Wagler may turn out better than them.

Nebraska runs good offense sets/motion, but doesn't look like they're that good at creating their own shot. Not super athletic, not a plus defensive team and they aren't a good rebounding team either. But they can shoot the crap outta 3 pts.

Florida is looking like the real deal again all of a sudden. They are going to be a problem as currently projected as a four seed.

Could someone pass Boozer? I could see some team convincing themselves his game won’t translate

He is smooth man - and such a smooth decision maker. Seems to have a plan out there. This is a really impressive win, Nebraska coming off a loss in a game at UM they lead most of the way. Illinois felt generally in control. The way they're looking right now, I may throw them into the tier 1 category with UM, AZ, UConn, Duke. Houston right there, ISU possibly.

College basketball really is incredible this season. I don't remember this many great teams at the top, you would need to go back a long time. UConn's resume is incredible despite playing in a weak Big East. Awesome job of scheduling and taking care of business especially with our injuries.

Keaton Wagler's last three games:
28 points on 7-15 (4 3PM)
22 points on 7-13 (2 3PM)
46 points on 13-17 (9 3PM)

This kid must be flying up draft boards

Much of it's due to the freshmen class. Think about all these tier 1 teams - Boozer, Peat/Burries, Wagler, Fleming/Cenac, Mullins. Any direct matchups in the top 13-14 are must watch. I'm starting to think Kansas should be in that 13-14.

Really impressive win for Illinois. They have a pretty easy schedule left in the B10. @MSU this week, but then an easy path until they play Michigan late. That game may be for the B10. Illinois is shaping up as a clear 2 seed.
Might depend on team need, Wagler is a 6'6" lead guard that's lights out from 3 and can get his off the bounce in the midrange and on floaters, he's looking cut out of the SGA mold
No - I think people fail to realize how unreal Boozer has been.

B1G gets interesting now. Nebraska should win out after this They've split with Illinois and lost to Michigan. Michigan still has to play Illinois, Purdue and MSU. Illinois still has MSU and Purdue, both of which will likely be fighting for 4th seed. All three could end up 18-2. Illinois may have the edge if Boswell's return doesn't screw them up.
