Probably will get a course of Xarelto or Enoxaparin for the DVT and things should ultimately be fine.

Kind of a freak thing but anyone who travels by plane and sits stationary for a while can have it happen. I'm sure a 7'6" dude probably is a little more susceptible to it. Not sure what the seating situation was like on the plane for him.

It's in his shoulder. Hopefully it's just the shoulder like it seems to be and he doesn't have a major clotting problem.

All these planes are tailored to the giants.

Yea, I realize that. But it could happen even if he happened to doze off in a giant recliner and not move a limb for a while. The clots can move through the venous system too.

It is weird and odd, but I'm sure he'll get an over-thorough workup for diagnostics.

It's probably highly likely things will be fine for next year. I hope so.

Stuff like that scares the crap out of me. It’s like the Sword of Damocles over your head.

.-.
If I recall correctly JR Richard's career w/the Astros was cut short due to finding a blood clot in his shoulder. That was a real tragedy at the time. He was a phenomenal pitcher.

Says online he's 7'3"

Sand news indeed. Wishing Wemby a haalthy and successful recovery. It looks like Steph will have to raise his game another level for the Spurs to make the playoffs.

Two things: I wonder if they shut down Fox also because he supposedly has a finger issue that is playable but will require some kind of surgery off season. And, my lord does their backup center rotation suck. Adama, go sign with them.

Just want the kid to get healthy and back on the court when he's ready. He is such a unique talent and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

.-.
He actually had a stroke caused by a clot. He was one of the best I have every seen.
And don’t forget the rest of the story. Sports writers killed him for jaking it. They refused to believe him when he said he was sick.

Economy middle?

I'm calling it:

Spurs fall back into the lottery, win and add Flagg to an already ridiculous stable of kids.

Wembey will return as good as ever.

Castle on TNT now. vs. Suns.

He just made a crazy layup.

Least surprising news ever. They want one more lottery pick cause it’ll be a decade before they miss the playoffs again.

Also how are the suns losing to the spurs without Wemby by 20? Woof. Phoenix the most disappointing team this year.

.-.
Spurs taking care of their franchise player-as they should. Hope he and Pop get back to strong health soon. Steph is not a rookie anymore. Looks like he's having fun. He's even cracking a smile once in awhile.

Huh?
Huh what? The spurs aren’t gonna be picking in the lottery again for at least a decade with Wemby, at least not with their own draft picks. They were hoping for a reason to shut him down since they aren’t a champ contender this year. Bill simmons predicted this on his pod last week and voila.

I don't understand your post. "Least surprising news ever"

He has a blood clot.

NBA injury reports should be taken with a pound of salt. Especially coming out of San Antonio with all the conflicting kawhi medical diagnoses when he was there. Will be surprised if this impacts him past this season

You think the Spurs made up his condition and Wemby went along with it?

Even though I didn't watch and I don't know what I'm talking about, I take note of the absurd Spurs coach:

Paul & Vassell & Barnes: 66 minutes combined, 9 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists
S. Castle: 13 minutes, 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals

I think the timing is too big of a coincidence to be ignored and they’re over exaggerating. Like I said, will be surprised if this is a big deal past this season. We’ll see.

It's not supposed to be a big deal if it's localized like they're saying but he needs to sit out for 6 months like other players who have had it. If he has a serious clotting condition his career is over.

How can you overexaggerate a blood clot and predict the timing of it?

Pistons have become a league pass watch because of Cade Cunningham, don't know what the hell Monty Williams was doing last year but it's night and day this season. All the talk about who is next to lead USA basketball was centered around Ant and Ja the past couple years and Cade has surpassed them imo. Ja has regressed and I prefer Cade's overall floor game and decision making over Ant and he can give you the points as well, he was always a point guard tho so that helps.

You are correct that if he is successfully treated he should be good to go next season. But he is done for this season
