Great in depth article which shows that he is very intelligent with a great desire to be coached and get better. Feel lucky to have him.

“Going to college, it was my first time really on my own and I just wanted to do everything. Basketball was second. I hate to say it but, looking back, basketball was second. Going out, having fun — you know, I get to eat out late, I get to go out to this party or do whatever and have fun. It came to a point where, Coach Juwan, it was in practice, he was like, 'Yo, T, we thought you were going to be farther ahead than where you are now.' That's when everything just hit me. I'm worried about the wrong stuff.”

What was he doing at Michigan? Must have been fun!

In many ways Reed is the perfect analogy for this team. They need to be pushed past their perceived limits to be successful. Hurley can only push them so far. At some point, they have to internalize it so it can come out on the court. The Huskies have to decide what kind of dog they want to be. House pet or attack dog.

It's remarkable how this staff finds a blend of high character and natural talent so often. I really liked the part where he admitted to not prioritizing basketball right away at Michigan, that obviously slowed down his development, and led to him being excited about Hurleys coaching style.

He also plays multiple instruments and didn't waste his education on something fake/useless. He's a smart guy, will be successful after basketball for sure.
Character, coachability and being the right fit for the culture is clearly important to the staff in addition to what they see watching games/film. Whenever the boneyard is sounding off about the staff not making an offer or going harder at a high level recruit, i get the sense one of those things wasnt adding up for them.
And to clarify, that doesnt mean someone is a bad kid if the staff doesnt go after them, their game just might not be a fit for the current team too

Like this take Pal. Can the whole be significantly greater than the sum of the parts? You can be sure that Hurley and staff will be keeping the mirror in front of the players faces. Read the poem, "The Man in the Glass", applies to this team for sure.

Great read and thank you for sharing. I am happy to see that he is exceeding his own expectations and now knows who he needs to be on the court.
