There's no quit in Illinois St. Very impressive performance throughout the playoffs.

Impressive flight by unseeded Illinois State (12-4). They’re the first FCS finalist to ever win 3 away games at opponents stadiums (North Dakota State, UC Davis, and Nova).

Every Redbirds’ playoff win’s been an upset with their FCS playoff comeback victory over #1 seeded North Dakota State. In the final 3 minutes, ISU scored 15 points for the massive upset.

Justin Lamson QB for Montana State is a junior and first enrolled at syracuse but must not have played. Played 2 years at Stanford and then transferred to Montana State.

So much better the FBS playoffs where we get a bunch of the same two conferences and a bunch of schools from said conferences and ND biznatching and moaning they got left out for a G5 team. Use the FCS model and I bet that would sell like hot cakes.

To be fair the FCS playoffs are pretty much the Big Sky - Missouri Valley invitational.
Here are the final four teams the last five years:

2025 - Big Sky (2), Missouri Valley (1); CAA (1) -- Finals Big Sky vs. Missouri Valley
2024 - Missouri Valley (3); Big Sky (1) -- Finals Big Sky vs. Missouri Valley
2023 - Missouri Valley (2); Big Sky (1); CAA (1) -- Finals Big Sky vs. Missouri Valley
2022 - Missouri Valley (2); Big Sky (1); Southland (1) -- Finals Missouri Valley vs Missouri Valley
2021 - Missouri Valley (2); Big Sky (1); CAA (1) -- Finals Big Sky vs. Missouri Valley

Since COVID the Big Sky and Missouri Valley have combined for 16 of 20 Semifinal berths... with 3 going to the CAA & 1 to the Southland and none of the other teams have reached the final (Missouri Valley with 6 of the 10 spots & Big Sky the other 4)... and the last two times the CAA reached the final four the semifinal was not competitive.
