FCS Playoffs - CCSU at Rhode Island

Rough sledding for the Ivy League teams and CCSU so far.

Villanova up 31-0 on Harvard at the half. YSU up 35-7 on Yale.

CCSU down 24-7 at URI at the half.

Apparently, in FCS football, the only way a New England program can win is to play another NE program. Really sad that NE is so disconnected to college football. Embarrassing.

Yale putting up a fight 2nd half - were down 42-14 3rd qtr but have made it a game. Just scored and now are down 42-29 early 4th.

CCSU just scored but PAT was blocked. URI up 24-13 early 4th.

Nova burying Harvard 45-7

.-.
URI now up on CCSU 27-16, 5m left

Yale has come back from 42-14 to now 42-36, 5m left

Whatever happens rest of the way, respectable showing by the two CT teams playing today.

Wow Massachusetts had a tough year in football. lol

Yale up 43-42 with 2 minutes to go. Looks like they have a 1st down in the red zone. Not sure how many time outs Youngstown has remaining. Looking good for Yale at the moment.

CCSU down 27-19, last gasp for them, 1:36 and the ball inside their 10.

What a comeback for Yale. Good for them - amazing.

Central held its own but fell short at a Top-10 team Rhode Island. Lost by one score and we had opportunities to win throughout. We simply didn't make enough plays, but that's a damn good FCS team in New Britain too!

CCSU played really well against URI -- that is a good team they lost to. I hope URI goes to Davis and smokes them, but that is a tough matchup for them. If Davis were coming east, it might be a different story.
