A new cult favorite?

Trey Rutherford FB #7.

Diaco said this week that Rutherford needed snaps. Conventional wisdom was he was taking snaps from Samra.

Nope.

Threw a curve ball.

Rutherford played well from the backfield. He definitely put a helmet on a defender on every snap he was in the backfield.

Could be interesting. Also a possible position for developing OLinemen going forward. Hashemi plays on the punt block trio protecting Wain. You could put Hashemi in the H-back or FB position too.

Nice job by the staff identifying a means to putting the 11 best players on the field.

I love unconventional player packages. I like that the staff is trying something different, and I like the fact that it seemed to be effective.

Pffft - how in the world did the kid end up with no. 7, and not no. 3?

Wasted opportunity, IMO...

That drove me crazy, trying to figure out who that was. Thank you.

Me too! I was thinking that was #7 Garrett Anderson?? I know everyone gains weight after getting married but...Then I said that certainly dosn't look like John Green. Then I thought Micky Mantle? How many #7's do we have!

The first time he came in, I assumed it was Andersen and looked for Shirreffs (to see if we had two QB's and planned on running a trick play. It didn't take long to realize it wasn't a second QB but didn't know it was Rutherford until reading this board.

We burned his RS last year. I thought he looked good last year and am surprised he hasn't supplanted someone inside to date.

I saw Anderson in on one play in the 3D quarter wearing #24 lined up in the backfield.
