Its weird some people still have not gotten over 90 or a claiming theyve finally gotten over it after the Mullins Miracle. Like seriously? I got over 90 the second the buzzer sounded in 99. In 90 duke went on to get blown out by UNLV and we no we wouldve not have beaten that UNLV team either. That loss sucked but im not sure how 99 didnt make up for that and then some. A 1 loss duke team as a 10 point favorite whom many had already crowned the greatest team ever and most importantly our first title against coming against them.
If thats not enough we then double down and beat them again in the F4 leaving K crying out to the refs "you killed us!". Then we go on to win 4 more titles. We`ve also had worse tourney losses (FL, Miss St, George Mason,MSU in 99) in years that we couldve won the natty. That loss is so far in the rear view its become barely even an after thought. I mean its to the point now that we`ve dog walked duke so badly for the last 30 years that while i still enjoy duke gettting knocked off every year i dont really hate them anymore as i realized the hate was mostly because we werent at that level as a program. But since 90 we`ve surpassed them and the separation will only grow with each title we win. Since they went back to back in 91-92 Uconn has double their national titles.
