Curious as to who your favorite basketball player was. The one you admired growing up, or tuned in to see play. I know we are UConn fans but there are a lot of exciting players over time.

I'm old school. Connie Hawkins and Magic were mine:

Hell, that'd be a hell of a starting lineup even without a power forward. O got more boards than most power forwards anyway.

Right now it's Steph Curry. Great young man as well in addition to really being fun to watch. Has really worked at his craft to become more well-rounded since coming to the league. Warriors are so much fun to watch in general, love they took down LeBron!

I don't really have anything invested in teams outside UConn, but I was really stressed in the finals pulling for GSW, my son started rooting for them 2 years ago.

In the past it was Iverson in the 90s as a point that dominated. 80s Dominique, great game dunker and the Human Highlight Reel!

I miss read the post at first and thought it was anytime so sorry for the gushing over GSW!

Ernie Degregorio was fun to watch! A friend of mine played against Ernie D - guarded him - in a high school game. My friend said he played great defense and held Ernie D to 41 points.

My favorite players growing up were
College: Pearl Washington
Pro: Dr. J

Who knew when I was growing up in northern CA I would grow to hate both of their alma maters (Cuse/UMASS) after deciding to move across country and go to UCONN.

BE opponent - junkyard dog jerome williams.
NBA - being a short guy I always enjoyed watching Muggsy Bogues.
On that same team, loved Larry Johnson.
Combo - Stockton and Malone.
Entertainment purposes - Rodman.
Now - the King.

Player I'd most like to be on a team with: Magic
Player I'd be most like if I were 9" taller (you may want to close your eyes now) Christian Laettner. I have about as little talent as he had, just as much intensity, and, probably like him, I'm gay.

so Magic and the hated one.

Connie Hawkins was from another universe, lost his best years before he was allowed to play. Hard to argue with that choice.

Not yet mentioned Pistol Pete, greatest scorer in college BB history. as well as Bill Bradley, who faced a box and four (as opposed to a box and one) every game he played in college.

But I'm a homer, Celtics fan from birth, so given one choice Larry Bird.
