This just occurred to me when thinking about last year's team. IIRC, Shabazz was usually not the first one off the bench, and tended to enter the game ~6 minutes in.

In fact, over the 2010-11 season, Shabazz averaged only 24 minutes a game. So far this year, he's averaging 36 (as you'd want/expect for a starting point guard).

I wonder if the added minutes are wearing on him.

I don't doubt it and this will be one of the biggest benefits to having Boat back. Not just sitting Napier, but allowing him to play off the ball

He spoke in an interview about how he has been getting very tired at the end of games. I think it was after the 4th game of the season.

He looked totally gassed in the 2nd half of the UCF game. The addition of Boatright is just what the team needed.

I like Lamb a ton, but he's not a PG. Boatright does have the ability to spell Napier a few ways: letting him move to the 2, letting him go to the bench, defending the opposition's PG or just helping break the press.

Likewise with Lamb, it allows him to play the 2 or a bit of the 3 and gives him more time on the bench to rest.

Besides playing 37 minute a game- being sick and then having a tooth extracted I think he was playing at 100%. We win the UCF game if we have RB on the floor (no knock on UCF- they played a great game).
