This times a million. At this point, even if we believed that the playbook, last year, was managed to keep the QB healthy (I don't really buy that, as much as I wish I did); sitting 0-2 in a year where you hoped to recapture the fan-base, all the guardrails have to come off, run the plays that give you the best chance to win, if it means running the QB more, so be it, but you have to run the plays that give the team the best chance.Charlton should call whatever plays give us a better chance to win. If that means running TR so be it. This is TR’s coming out party. I’m anticipating a great effort and a big win.
Availability is the best ability. The words. Stay healthy
You also have to wonder if Charlton will be afraid to run too much because he doesn't need to have another season with only one healthy QB.
Technically we do. We have that true freshman out of Mass. I think his name is Tucker McDonald. We should currently have at least THREE healthy QBs on the roster.
I wish I could agree with you but I can't in this instance. We have had nothing but injuries with running the QB. If you get flushed out of the pocket and have to run thats ok. HOwever designed runs lead to to many QB hurt. Roberson looks like a pretty small player to begin with and I don't want him out for the season.Charlton should call whatever plays give us a better chance to win. If that means running TR so be it. My point was that he may not want to run Roberson too much because we are already down one QB for the season. He doesn't want to keep losing qbs.We should currently have at least THREE healthy QBs on the roster.
I kind of get the feeling that the choice of Fagnano might have surprised the team a little bit. I I feel like there will be good energy for Roberson this weekend.Charlton should call whatever plays give us a better chance to win. If that means running TR so be it. This is TR’s coming out party. Agree 100%. Watch for much better energy, especially from our OLine.I kind of get the feeling that the choice of Fagnano might have surprised the team a little bit. I I feel like there will be good energy for Roberson this weekend.
Hope you’re right. We’re only 7 point favorites, but Vegas can’t be right every time.Charlton should call whatever plays give us a better chance to win. If that means running TR so be it. This is TR’s coming out party. I’m anticipating a great effort and a big win.
Roberson is short, but in person he looks thick. You never know but he looks durable.
Definitely take a long slide, it’s the best way to get a flag for a late hit.Right. I'm not saying I want linebackers squaring up on Roberson a dozen times tomorrow but he's also not the QB I worry about just for taking a hit.
Be smart and decisive with the runs. If he can get out of bounds, get out of bounds. If he can slide, slide. And if he has to take a hit, hedge a bit to try to keep from taking a hard hit.
I think they will come out kicking on all cylinders tomorrow. Mora and Charlton have sat down with Roberson and the rest of the offense this week, and gone over the X’s, O’s and the arrows. They have a weapon in Roberson, and his receivers, not to mention Houston, Burns, and Brewton. Every guy has to know his role.Tomorrows game a bit of a litmus test for Charlton. Can we have nice things or not?

Just five games in his UConn career, the last two games really started to show me what Roberson can do for this offense.Hope Joe gets better soon, but I am very excited to see what Roberson can do.
You can tell Roberson is getting more confident with each outing. He is getting better at reading the coverage, and he has a good arm. The few throws he made into tight coverage tells me he is finally believing in his own capabilitiesJust five games in his UConn career, the last two games really started to show me what Roberson can do for this offense.
- 71 total points
- 470 combined passing yards
- Which, in turn, has helped Rosa rush for 181 yards in that time.
- Also, the Roberson > Joly connection is flourishing.
- 10 receptions, 140 yards, 1 TD over last two gms.
- 4 TDs to 1 INT
- Improving movement in the pocket, positive net gain in rushing.
While I admire your commitment to the bit, don't you think it's run it's course? I mean the Rice guys were complimenting the play calling all game. Yesterday, we passed on first down. Most noticeably, right after the fumbled punt where the play opened up a downfield receiver and the pass was skyyed. Now I just wish Charleston has more faith in the kid since he is still obsessed with running up the middle on most 1st downs.

Every top program like Penn State is recruiting at least one top QB per season. For Roberson, the QBs recruited in the 2 classes in front of him were Sean Clifford (4 year starter) and Will Levis (transferred and 2 year starter at Kentucky), and both are now in the NFL. The starter this year is Drew Allar, who was a 5* and 4th rated QB in his class. But, they all can't play which is why the best place to recruit top QBs for a school like UConn is through the portal.Roberson is starting to show why he was a 4* recruit coming out of HS. If he continues this rapid improvement, PSU really dropped the ball letting him go which is great for us.
There were multiple situations where our play calling was horrible. While I admire your commitment to the bit, don't you think it's run it's course? Not just UConn. Burrow transferred, Hurts transferred, Nix at Oregon, it’s important even at the big schools.Every top program like Penn State is recruiting at least one top QB per season.
