She plays for the Canberra Capitols in the WNBL (Australia). My understanding is that she does not take a salary, and thus maintains her amateur status.

She was invited to the Australian National Team (Opals) camp on Monday. Like Kia Nurse, she will bring a ton of high level experience to the table for any team lucky enough to land her.

Didn't she sign with a pro team ?
Semi- pro team near her home which will NOT interfere with her ability to play NCAA ball if that is what she decides to do.

Ezi has also signed to play for a Melbourne area team in the SEABL, a semi-pro league that begins play in April. Again, it appears the terms of the signing would not disqualify her from playing NCAA basketball.

We know she is at least considering playing college ball in the states and has reportedly engaged in discussions with the staff about a visit to UConn. We know from Keil Moore, who seems to be aware of her discussions with US college teams, that UConn, UCLA and Oregon are three schools currently in the mix. We know that she has been named to the preliminary Opals squad to participate in an early February training camp in Italy. As I suggested in another thread, either before or after the trip to Italy might provide an opportunity for Ezi to visit schools in the states if she is so inclined. I suspect we'll know soon enough the direction in which her young career is headed.

Diana needs to get her wife on the case. Get that young lady to UConn. Oh, and Diana and Penny should come too.
IIRC Lauren Jackson is also fond of Geno and UCONN. Our program has a good relationship with the elite Australian team/players...

Thanks Coco for clearing that up..................I wasn't sure whether she had signed with a pro team and/or whether she could still be eligible for college ball.

CHARLIE, CHARLIE, CHARLIE......OUCH.....feeling your pain here in response to your dropping that ball of yours on your foot!
Where is that legendary optimism or yours?

Ezi was on local radio today. Mentioned her upcoming stint in the SEABL this summer, said she'll go from there and hasn't decided where she's playing afterwards. Said she's been "tossing over" the decision about what to do for a couple years.

Relevant section from 13:00 through 14:30.

The WNBL Show - Episode 11 (12/12/2017)

Glad to have the info. Course it is worth zero in reading where she is headed. To view her as anything more than a real wild card long, long shot would be a stretch.

Yes, but it's not a definitive statement that she's NOT coming to the US either.

It sounds like she is more interested in B.B. at the next level moreso than the college experience. Could she become the first one’ndone women’s player?

Don't think she could do that, but she's raw enough that she'd probably have to play at least three years for professional teams to know what they had anyway.

If Ezi has the goal of a big time pro career, that cannot be found in Australia. They have a pro league which pays little and garner's little fan support. Her playing for the Opals might garner enough attention in Europe to get her a contract. If "big time pro" is her thing she would be well served to get to the US of A in a top 10 college program.
