Here is a preview article about the team that Ezi will join after the Commonwealth Games. SEABL This league is one of several that runs through the WNBL offseason, covering smaller areas instead of the whole country. Clubs that participate generally have youth teams and local leagues and this team is the best of those youth plus adult players. Some of the bigger name players will not play during this time, but plenty of WNBL players also play in these types of leagues to supplement their incomes and stay sharp. Teams can sign two foreign (non-Oceania players with some leeway for Asian players too) reinforcements for their team, but it looks like Diamond Valley has not done so. This is their first season in this particular league and Ezi is part of the local push to start strong. I am sure that they will want her for the whole season, but it usually depends on what the school wants. The Bendigo [insert offensive logo here] wanted Chloe Bibby to stay as they nearly won the championship, but she had to leave for Mississippi State. It looks like her teammates include Steph Gorman, who is headed to Utah State. I think the Stephanie Collins listed is the one who just finished at SMU. Lauren Scherf and Abbey Wehrung are the established players and also played for Canberra with Ezi along with New Zealand national team player and former collegian Chevannah Paalvast and Maddison Rocci, who has a small chance of being drafted this year. Other players with NCAA experience include Bree Whatman and Meg Crupi. I've been following the SEABL for a while since a former Duke player has played there every year after graduating as a foreign player. Some of the games are streamed so I will post if I see any that might include Ezi. Just to be clear, no Kia: Canada Basketball Other than Australia, which got basketball put back in the games and is hosting, nobody else is really taking them all that seriously, just taking the best players available. Even a number of Australians playing professionally in Europe are skipping.
