Extremely Early Top 25 list

The top players are mostly HS or international. Hamilton and Brimah in the 50's and no Purvis. Kind of amazing if it goes that way.

Legit NBA players don't always make for great college players, though. And while you're correct that you can't argue with Calipari's or K's record with one-and-dones, it does still hold up that 3 of the last 4 titles have been won by upperclassmen-heavy teams.

That said, I do think Duke enter next year as prohibitive favorites (though that could change if Kansas get Josh Jackson).

As for UK, I think they'll miss Ulis way more than people realize.
I agree they will miss Ulis, but Fox is really good and they return Briscoe, they will be fine at point.

This year was an odd year, the best freshmen went to non traditional places with some very questionable coaches like LSU, Cal, Marquette, and Purdue. Next year they are going to established powers with good if not great coaches/motivators, Duke and UK who are returning very good players in Duke's case, and decent players in UK's case.

1 and done teams have had no issues getting to the final four and if you take away UConn they would probably have 4 of the last 6 titles.

One more. #20 on Yahoo Sports.

A way-too-early look at the 2016-17 season's top 20 teams

20. Connecticut
Key losses:
G Sterling Gibbs, F Shonn Miller, F Phillip Nolan, G Omar Calhoun
Key returners:
G Jalen Adams, G Daniel Hamilton (projected), G Rodney Purvis (projected), C Amida Brimah (projected), F Kentan Facey, F Steven Enoch
Notable newcomers: G Terry Larrier, F Juwan Durham, F Vance Jackson, G Alterique Gilbert, F Mamadou Diarra
Outlook: Three of the seven Huskies who played at least nine minutes in their NCAA tournament finale last month will graduate. Three others have declared for the draft without hiring an agent. So could this be too high for UConn if the Huskies are replacing six of their top seven players? Heck yes. Could it also be too low if the three who are testing the waters all return? That's true as well. The rotation player who's certain to return is Adams, the promising freshman guard who hit the 70-foot heave against Cincinnati that likely got UConn to the NCAA tournament at all. He's hoping to be joined by Brimah, Hamilton and Purvis, but each has a decision to make in the coming weeks. Purvis is on pace to graduate and could play overseas, while Brimah's shot blocking and Hamilton's versatility should at least make both of interest to NBA scouts. Regardless, Adams will be helped by an array of promising newcomers including Larrier, a highly touted VCU transfer.

How do I do this? I want a bet on UCONN. Where do I go?
Las Vegas is, I think, the only place in the country where it's legal to place a wager like this. Just go to any casino that has a sports book and you should be good to go.

Let's try to both be in the top 25 most of the year and meet in the AAC Finalfor once. Thanks.

who do you guys lose, just Ellis?

Ellis, Cobb, DeBerry and Thomas among rotation players, but yeah, with Caupain and Clark back as well as Evans, they should have a pretty formidable core.

If the other thread is true and DHam has an agent he is not coming back and we don't see the top 25. Understand this is all speculation at this point but he is by far our best player.

Expecting a lot out of Washington the NC State transfer and our top recruit Jarron Cumberland. The play of those two probably decides our season. With Hamilton declaring, we might end up being the preseason pick to win the league. Thankfully the conference tournament isn't on someones home floor making the seeding sort of irrelevant...
