Wonder which coach in this circus went after him? My money is on Hurley, because Terrell spent two days on an official there right before the announcement. I doubt Cooley or Ollie would burn that bridge.

But who knows my respective is whack.

Through this process, I have learned so much, must importantly you learn that there is no such thing as friends.

The fact of the matter is that, this is there job, they are paid to recruit, & call, you 50x trying to get you to there school. I volunteer

My time is more valuable then anything, I can't get that back. But for the coaches that have called and wished the best I appreciate it.

It means a lot, cause if you know me, you know I busted my A** with those kids from the bottom to the top.

This is a sport there are winners & losers, somebody has to lose. You knew that when you signed up for this job.

Lastly: If you can't respect that your whole respective is whack. And I can't respect you, now on to the next group of players.

It's good he learned there are no such things as friends. Probably would be a good idea to learn the difference between their/there at some point.

Based upon the shadiness of the whole situation, I'm not surprised someone is mad. I agree Hurley is most likely.

Can someone explain what's happening here to someone who clearly has not been paying attention

I'd wait to side with anyone on this account. I could see Cooley being pretty upset also, considering the effort he put in on both kids. Cooley isn't as hotheaded as Hurley but I could see him getting pretty pissed. I doubt it was Donovan or Ollie. Who else was after Terrell?

Have to side with the AAU coach on this one.

Why is that? If any of the coaches are angry, I'm guessing they're mad at the AAU coach, not the players. And frankly, this AAU coach doesn't seem like the most honorable character - he certainly appeared to have some incentive to push these two in one direction or the other. If one of the coaches was mad I'd wager they had good reason to be. Boswell has rubbed me the wrong way from the start, it seemed like he was making it a lot more about him/his AAU program than it had to be.

Because no one forces these coaches into it, they do it of their own volition. If you don't like getting involved with Boswell, then here's some advice: don't get involved with Boswell!!

That almost like saying to not be a NCAA D1 coach. On some level every NCAA coach is involved with shady AAU types. Not saying Boswell is, though the rumors seem to lead that way.

I don't know if I could name even a handful of coaches who didn't have a shady AAU coach they are associated with.

I agree. It's just the grousing that makes no sense. I've killed Gary Williams for this for years, so I'm not going to stop killing coaches for it now.

Cronin would be the other one, Honestly I would bet anything it wasn't Cooley as I think he knew way in advance it was not going his way. He had Ben Bentil on campus for a visit when an "announcement" was made. With the official visit and multiple other visits to URI that Terrell took and all the rumors about him loving the school and Hurley, I honestly would be hard pressed to even think for one second it was any other coach than him.

Wonder what could have been said to him to get his panties up in a bunch like that? Did Hurley call him and say ("Ah yeah, remember that assistant coach possibility we talked about, you do? Well yeah, that ain't happening!") and hang up?

Wonder what could have been said to him to get his panties up in a bunch like that?

Dan Hurley - "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!"

Coach - "No."

Dan Hurley - "DO YOU KNOW WHO MY DAD IS?!"

Coach - "No."

Dan Hurley - "DO YOU KNOW WHO MY BROTHER IS?!"

Coach - "No."

Dan Hurley - "It's me, Danny Hurley? I'm the coach at Rhode Island?"

Coach - "....."

Dan Hurley - "AND I, DANNY HURLEY, AM NO LONGER YOUR FRIEND!"
