Expect to face KSU not USC if we get that far

KSU has Ayoka Lee back. Before her first injury they were playing awfully well, just going by scores. It wasn’t against top competition but still.

And they destroyed Fairfield.

If they win and USC wins, it will be tough for USC not to look past them
knowing UConn would be next.p (if we are fortunate enough to advance that far).

You heard it hear first.

It will be an interesting game for sure if the seed hold, but K-State needs to get past Kentucky first, who shockingly escaped with a 1 point win over Liberty. Hoping for some fun upsets in the 2nd round!!

Part of me wants to see the field cleared out for UConn by early upsets. But part of me — a very small part of me — would prefer “to play anyone anywhere,” or something to that effect. UConn isn’t LSU. Geno doesn’t need anyone to clear a path for the huskies.

I am beyond confused by this post. There is so much basketball to be played before now and a regional final and so many things that could happen before then. SDSU is a really good team and nobody should think they are just going to be a pushover. Every single player they put on the court can shoot and they don't beat themselves. Given all of the injuries and things that have happened over the last couple of years, let's not count our chickens before they hatch.

I'm with the last poster. One game at a time, please. The Jackrabbits have a lot to recommend them, even though I think UConn will win handily. But too much can go wrong, especially injuries. UConn the very well against ArkSt., but it isn't a trend until the sample reaches at least two or three.

They have to beat KY first and that’s looking iffy right now.

If Kansas State would have lost this game, a ton of angry fans from Manhattan and Blacksburg would have stormed this forum
So then, eight fans, half from each town, with average weight of 250 lbs….8 x 250. = 2,000 lbs avoirdupois. 2,000 lbs. = 1 ton.
All that assumes that none skipped breakfast.

Put me in the “I hope every favorite but UConn loses every game for the rest of the tournament” crowd! I’d love to see us playing Richmond and Illinois in the Final Four. Furthermore, I have to say, I would not be ashamed in the least if that were to actually happen and we won the title. Unfortunately, even if that did happen, I would still be nauseous with worry before each game anyway, so maybe …… nope, I’m sticking to it. I only wish there were a couple of 16 seeds left I could replace them with! :D

I think you are dreaming.

KSU is slow. They aren't going to stay with Southern California any more than a team like South Dakota can stay with UConn. The level of the average athletes on those teams is night and day and the two stars on USC are way better than anyone KSU has on the roster. If KSU plays good they might keep it close for a half a game or so but in the end it will be stress free.

U maybe over rating the consistency of
USC they had a numer of single digit wins
And a loss to iowa
USC will need to play well or they could be in a close game
Certainly the favorite

Love it!!

It looks like UCONN will play Oklahoma next if the Huskies win tonight. The Sooners are widening their lead against Iowa.
ESPN just announced that with a win over SD State, UCONN will play their next game on Saturday night at 5:30PM or 8PM EST followed by a Monday night Elite Eight game.

Oklahoma could be a problem if our defense goes on vacation. Like Tennessee, they seem to always shoot 3s, and they got a big halftime lead with Beers on the bench for most of the half. The Iowa defense is atrocious, not being able to stop anyone. Playing zone the entire game, they can't get close to stopping the Sooners. Could be a close game, but of course we have to beat the Rabbits first.

Well, it better not be at 10:00 since the game is in Washington state.

Obviously, it is possible for K-State to win but let’s face it, they are going to need help from USC in order for that to happen. USC has to play poorly and KSU well. Fortunately for Kansas State fans, the two big stars for USC (Watkins & Iriafen) do occasionally go off the rails and have horrendous shooting games.
Anyway, USC still has to get through Mississippi State! I doubt it will happen, but USC does seem to have games where they have trouble putting the ball in the basket! All it takes is for that to coincide with an opponent’s hot hand and it’s Bye Bye Trojans! (Yet another reason to be thankful for Geno’s attention to our defense.)
I expect we (assuming we get there) will indeed be playing USC but I don’t think it would be totally shocking if they got knocked off. One and done, Baby! One bad game is all it takes in this format!

Oklahoma looked really good. Demolished Iowa, a team that beat USC.

One game at a time. Jack Rabbits look good too.
