From the article, a head-scratcher:

"Stanford did get to the bucket on a regular basis on dribble penetration by the guards."

I don't recall a single effective dribble penetration by the Stanford guards.

Bottomline it was a total blowout! We won in every category other than offensive rebounding. For those
who have been expressing concern re our upcoming game against ND in other threads, Relax!

We are going to destroy ND on Sat;) This is not going to be a close game! We will beat them by over 20 points!
You can take it to the bank !

Ira I like the way you think. I agree 20+. Why UConn has to much height underneath and their defense is to good on the perimiter. ND has some great shooters but if you cant get inside....your one dimentional. Most teams playing UConn this year have had a hard time going inside on them . ND will be no different.

Caution: what if SkyD eats her Wheaties right on 1/5?
I raise this concern because UCONN has allowed a fair number of 3s.

Skylar Diggins has been a .333 to.350 3 point shooter her first 3 years at ND. This year she is shooting only .300. Jewel Loyd is the 3 point shooter you must defend she is shooting for ND at .465. Like Diggins no one else on ND is shooting above .300 on 3s. ND has only 4 shooter taking between 30-35 3pt attempts. Turner has the most at 35 and is only 8 for 35 or .229.

In contrast UConn 8 players with 28+ 3s and Kaleena with 62 at .532, Kelly with 33 at .485, Brianna Banks with 33 at .438, Breanna Stewart with 29 at .345, and Caroline with 38 at .395, and Bria with 33 at .324.

ND is shooting .299 as a team on 154 3pt attempts and making only 46 on the season. UConn is shooting .402 on 274 attempts making 111.

I am not sure that ND wants to rely on shooting 3s, UConn on the other hand can be reasonably comfortable.
