Maybe this will help him fall into the abyss on this Board. I know he used to play for us, but do people really care?

(No offense 99)

I hope so. He was an aimless kid when he was here. Just wishing him the best.

imo grabbed the most important/impressive board in uconn history. good enough for me

Given all the poor press at H in the last month (PC thefts by men's hoops, most of whom have been expelled), this is both good and bad for him. Lots of play time vs bad association.

Weed is nothing compared to alcohol. Cops know it, doctors know it, politicians know it.

Say what you want but I think Coombs could have really helped out last year. Lamb was more perimeter-oriented, and Boatright and Napier were too small to consistently finish around the rim. Last years team desperately needed a guy to slash through the teeth of the defense and get to the rim, especially against the zone. I know Coombs isn't a fan favorite around here, but he could have helped out IMO.

Hope he gets well soon and at least gets his degree and has a solid backup plan to basketball.
I agree that he would have helped last year

He had a great three game run for us in 11 in addition to that crucial board.

he did some nice things against the zone that we dont always see at uconn. great at the baseline cut and pretty good at flashing middle to catch and shoot/make a quickish move to the basket

I actually liked Jamal Coombs-McDaniel. I was upset when he decided to transfer out.

Best of luck to him.

I beg to differ.

My vote: Kevin Freeman - defensive rebound in traffic off a Matt Santangelo missed 3-pointer vs Gonzaga with five seconds left up by two. Followed by two foul shots to seal it.

Perhaps a little crazy that I immediately had a best rebound vote. I also have a "best defensive footwork to force a travel" vote, but everyone would have the same one.

Do you have a "best dance-around-the rim before it drops through the hoop"?:p

I do. It was a Brian Fair layup off a steal from an inbound pass by a BC player that put us up 84-81. Fair had another layup on the play immediately preceding it.

Best offensive rebound has to be Boone against Duke. The series of OReb against UW in 1998 are tied for 2nd.
