EvanMiya ranks the best wins in college basketball this season

Just from that chart, we own 3 of the 20 toughest wins this season — 10, 15 and 19. No one else has more than 2. Add to that one of our 2 losses was to the #1 team in the country and you have what you need to know why at the moment Houston is not competing with us for the #1 seed. Houston does not have any of the toughest wins of the season on the list, and didn’t lose to the #1 team in the nation. It shows exactly why Quad 1 records is only a simplified starting point. Not all Quad 1 wins are anywhere near the same and not all Quad 1 losses are anywhere near the same.

Ngl, MSG games are a pretty good way to game these systems to be counted as “neutral” OOC games.

Counting a team from Utah who played a team from CT in Boston as a neutral game is hilarious. Shoutout our AD and Hurley for pulling this kind of scheduling off.

we'll be playing a team from Illinois in Chicago next year....how's that for neutral

Yeah those games against Gonzaga in Seattle were definitely more away games than neutral.

Having the greatest arena in basketball as a home court is such a good advantage for us when it comes to OOC scheduling. Like teams have to and want to play at MSG regardless. It’s a much tougher ask to have us come out to some random arena that usually doesn’t host tourneys closer to them.

.-.
Giving a bubble team a 10.5% chance to win at Kansas just feels wrong considering they lose less than one game a year at home

I'm aware we have great crowds at MSG (and Boston) but MSG is still not a "home court". I was at the St. John's game the other night and that is what a home court feels like. The three neutrals were great environments where UConn fans definitely showed out but there were still plenty of Illini, Gators and Cougars in all those crowds.
