We are not an ESPN properay, Duke is.

And as a follow up to that: Why does the Big East get so little respect? Well, for one, what network immediately comes to mind when you think of sports in general? Fox? Try again. ESPN? Yup. What network has been associated with the NCAA for over 40 years? Fox? Hmmm. Can you say no way? ESPN has had an association with the NCAA since 1979. They are bedfellows. What network carries Big East games? ESPN? Again, repeat - nah. We are not an ESPN/NCAA product. Therefore, does that help explain why the Big East receives so little respect by the ESPN/NCAA cabal? It's only business. Why should ESPN promote a BE team if they get nothing out of it compared to teams they cover? If the BE switched to ESPN for the majority of tv coverage its hard-nosed reputation and national attention would increase tenfold.
